RDX 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,500 miles

I HATE this. I get into my car everyday seeing crappy leather. If I could, I would've taken the hit and sold this for a different car. Why would seats start self destruct when a vehicular is a little over one year old. What happened to Japanese reliability??!!?!?!

seat wear:drivers seat wear in lower left corner of the seat

Acura is using a cheap, soft, poor wearing vinyl on the sides of their leather seats. It is of extremely poor quality and durability. Sliding in and out of the seat over several thousand miles, i.e. less that 10,000, is showing significant wear. While the perforated seat fronts are leather, the rest is vinyl. Cheap vinyl! A friend with the same model is having the same problem. I expect a hole to wear through on his seat shortly. In is not naugahyde quality, no durable backing, just cheap vinyl. When I discussed this with the dealer service writer he basically said 'tough' and did not flinch when saying it. Acura quality and reputation are going to take a hit on this issue. I intend to spread the work on this issue. Needless to say I am disappointed in Acura's attitude.
