I have treated this car like a member of the family. I was left this car by my mother. Sounds corny but come on... 55,587 mi. and the dash is cracking apart all over. The passenger side is awful. I'm afraid to let anyone ride in the car. HELL, I'm afraid to ride in it. Is it going to go off while I'm driving and cause an accident. I'm on Disability. Acura should fix this problem with no questions ask. This car has always been kept in garage and has only been in Vegas two years. In the garage in Florida also. Show me one 2006 Acura with only 55,587 mi. on it that has a exploding dash board. COME ON ACURA......STEP UP !!!!

Dashboard started to crack a few years ago soon after the warranty expired. This is a garage kept vehicle with 50,000 original miles on it. I work every day and rarely drive the car. Now the entire dash is cracking all over the place. It looks like crap. The rest of the car looks brand new. I will see what the dealer can offer me. If they screw me I will not be buying the MDX I was looking at. My Toyota 4 Runner with 262,000 miles blows Acura away. Probable will be my first and last Acura. My Lexus was a good car also.

Acura 2006 TL, dashboard cracked in 2012. On the phone with their customer service and they refuse to say it is a problem. When I told him to do a google search and then tell me if it is a problem or not the idiot actually told me they don't take their statistics off of google where one person can create a website that they can create alter identities to make it look like it has traffic. What joke! and what an idiot! SHAME ON YOU ACURA!!!!! Call their customer service at 1-800-382-2238 option 7 and demand they send you to a case manager and have the problem taken care of. Lets all not take no for an answer!!!! copy this message and send to all forums!!!

One owner used car. Fairly low mileage. Wife's first, "her own car". Lot of mechanical problems repaired under existing warranty. Problem started when small crack was noticed on the dash right by the right side of passengers airbag. Called a repair/detail shop to ask about a repair. Repair shop asked questions and when learned it was an Acura, asked if it was by the air bag. Repair firm stated that he can't fix it and that many Acuras have cracks at the airbag. It has always been a problem. Suggested I replace it or find a dash "carpet" or "cap". Since then the dash has cracked all over the top from windshield to edge of dash in several places. Disappointing. Rest of car has held up as expected.

A split has appeared overnight in the dashboard on the passenger side. You can now clearly see the outline of what appears to be the airbag section in the dashboard.

I can not believe how many items have failed on this so called luxury car: With-in the first 5 years, the hood struts failed, both side view mirror motors failed, passenger door window motor would intermittently operate, paneling on the driver door started coming off, rear spoiler came undone and the clear coat covering I had installed at time of purchase began bubbling. Over the last several years the slider on the cup holder broke, the black lining over the exterior window trim is now peeling, the audio controls on the steering wheel occasionally work in reverse (when turning volume down it goes up instead)

I paid $36K for this TL and feel like I got screwed. What a joke.....I do not think I will ever be doing any business with Acura again.

The dashboard on the passenger side started cracking around the airbag. It now has two heavy cracks on either side of the airbag, which leaves the concern the cracks may allow moisture in, or cause other issues, that impact the airbag. The Acura dealership reports no recalls, nor other complaints of this sort. However, an online search revealed quite a few people who have posted similar issues with this Make/Model/Year.

Same as other people have reported on this page. Wide, unsightly cracks in the dashboard from the windshield to the glovebox. 2 cracks, one on each side of the passenger airbag. I live in Tarpon Springs, FL... literally within a 5 mile radius of two of the other posts (Clearwater and Port Richey). If there are at least 3 of us here, this has to be happening all over.

All, literally within the last 4 months... cracks in dash issue ($1800), cruise controls on steering wheel have failed ($?), and Nav System failure ($1400, also a freq flyer if you google it).

I love my Acura & we loved our Accord before that. After reading these posts, I will be taking down to the dealer. Clearly a known issue & appears Honda corporate is compensating. Come on Honda... counting on you!!

I am very concerned about the cracks on the dashboard. They appear to form where the airbags are. Passenger side is very noticeable. There are cracks all over my car. The door panel is now starting to show. I got my car brand new and now it feels unsafe and unattractive.

Where is the Luxury that Acura offers in these cars? There are lots of complaints for this problem. Something needs to be done.

This should be repaired free of charge from Acura since this seems to be a common problem with this model. I have never had this happent to any car that I have ever purchased. This was my first Acura. I have had a lot of problems with mirrors falling off inside and out, cup holder broke, blue tooth doesn't work, had to have it disable due to it draining my battery of power. For a luxury car this is not what I expected. We purchased car brand new. I had a Toyota Avalon. Never had any of these problems. Not a happy customer.

At the beginning of this summer my dashboard randomly started cracking above my steering column. The crack has extended all the way to the windshield and split off in one direction. Also the passenger side has started to crack around the airbag. An expensive luxury car like should not have these types of issues. I love this car, but now every time i get in I cant help but feel that I am driving a piece of junk.
