Just purchased the vehicle used and driving off lot with four adults in vehicle, the banging with each bump in road was very disappointing. Acura fixed one side only, not both. To make sure problem was solved I have to travel 150km each way for repairs. 3 trips to dealership to rectify.

My story is very similar to the other complaint listed. Sometimes a loud "popping" sound coming from the suspension on the front drivers side, ongoing now for months, two trips to the dealer with no fix. Acura is supposed to be contacting owners now for months with a permanent fix for the problem. The sound is mostly noted at lower speeds, in and out of my driveway. It sounds like something is broke in the suspension. As an Acura loyalist, i am pretty dissapointed with how Acura has handled it, which is nothing so far. After 4 acura's i will strongly reconsider buying another one.

Loud "CLUNKING NOISE" came from passenger side rear suspension. It got louder as the car getting more miles on it. Took it in four times at the local dealer:

1st Attempt: Local dealer changed the strut but noise still there,

2nd Attempt: acura agent came in to verify the problem and took the entire assembly rear suspension apart and found nothing wrong with it but the noise still present so they concluded that it is a normal noise on the TL (Which I don't agree because only one corner of the car is making the noise, left rear suspension is nice and quiet when ride over bump)

3rd attempt: Service manager refused service because he told me that Acura is will not fix the "clunking noise" because they think it is a normal sound.

4th attempt: I took the car to a small local shop which is not Acura and some mechanic friends to check out the noises that I am hear from the one corner of the car (passenger rear suspension). They all confirmed the noise is an irregularity of a suspension and suspected something is wrong with the strut and it assembly/bushing but inconclusive with the problem because it could be many things that can go wrong with it and recommended me to bring it back to Acura. Acura refused service again and said the same thing like the 3rd attempt.

File a claim with BBB and the same Acura Claim representative that I dealt with earlier said the same thing again, that they will not fix anything regarding the clunking noise I hear because they think it is normal.

My opinion: This is an Acura and it is over $40,000 dollars car so I expected a nice quiet and comfortable car but the "Clunking noise" really killed my excitement about owning this car. Just a headache every time I look or drive it. I am definitely upset with Acura about how they handle this situation because they did not offer me any solution but they basically tell me live with the "clunking noise" from that one corner of the car. and if the noise was normal, Acura mechanic wouldn't have change the strut the 1st time I brought it in...Why is Acura doing this?? and How can I get them to fix the problem I am having now, can anyone help? my frustration with Acura is to the roof now and hope to get this handle the sooner the better.

Purchased new 2012 Acura TL April 2012, noise from the suspension coming out of the garage at low speeds, it's a low grinding noise, between that and vibration issues the car been in 2 different dealers for a total of 6 visits out of commission for 36 total days.

Filed a vehicle defect notification with Honda of America , set up a check ride with a Factory rep. He told me the ball joints are a known defect with the new TL, they were only replacing them for customers that complained. Wow how thoughtful of them. Currently going through the Lemon law motions

Overall, Nice car, horrific customers service, in my opinion Acura has ZERO business in the luxury car market.

It seems to me they are more concerned in developing a Jet than caring for customers or producing a quality car.

I've returned the car to Acura dealer twice. The first time the service manager rode with me. Naturally, the car didn't make the noise at that time, so the car wasn't kept. Within a couple of days, the noise was audible again, and is even more so now. I notice it especially at low speeds - backing out of the garage or parking spaces. If you are going around 10 MPH, you can hear it - a popping noise. Took it back to Acura, told them to drive around their parking lot at 10 MPH with no radio or A/C on, and they'd be able to hear it. This time they did hear it. They contacted Acura, who said they were aware of the problem and that it was either the suspension or ball joints. They say the car is safe to drive, but when I hear that noise, I definitely don't feel confident making a long trip. The noise is now audible at speeds up to 40 MPH even with the A/C and radio on. Probably still makes the noise at higher speeds, but unable to hear it over road noise. I have no get-well date. The dealer said they were waiting for Acura to determine what the fix was and then either they or Acura would contact me. So ..... how long am I supposed to drive the car like it is? When I mentioned that the noise was happening more frequently, I was told that it was probably due to outside temperature. OK, so does that mean this problem will continue to advance until ...... what? I want the car fixed. I haven't even had it 6 weeks yet and am not the only one with this problem. The dealer said I was the 3rd or 4th person with the SAME problem with a 2012 Acura TL. I don't have a problem with the dealer, but I DO have a problem with Acura's handling of the issue.
