TLX V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,000 miles

I have read several complaints and I finally feel like my thoughts have been validated and the defects I have experienced are real, and NOT due to my inability to properly handle a car.

All the issues I have experienced are relatively minor, so I am only complaining about the one that caused minor damage to my front bumper.

I pulled into a parking space at a Walmart parking lot. There was a large pick up truck already parked on the other side, facing my car. When I braked and came to a complete stop, and put the car in park, the car jerked forward and hit the front bumper of the truck. So now I have a scratch and small dent in the center of my front bumper.

At the time, I thought it was something I had done, but now I see that other people have experienced a similar jerking forward. It has also happened when I'm in stop and go traffic, where I brake, and the car jerks forward a bit, almost as though someone hit me from behind. I don't know if this is a separate problem or not.

Overall, I am sorely disappointed in how rough the transmission seems to operate. Sometimes it hesitates when I am trying to accelerate, and other times I feel a sort of locking type of shudder when I am braking to come to a full stop. I wish something could be done to fix all of these annoying issues!

TLX Tech 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6 miles

I LITERALLY just purchased the new 2015 Acura TLX 3.5 V6 AWD last night and didn't notice anything off during the test drive. However, on the way home, I noticed that when I would press the brake pedal down HARD, after releasing it, the entire car (transmission perhaps?) would shake/jerk. This happened at every stop light. I tried just pressing it lightly, enough to brake at the light, and there was no shake upon releasing the pedal. Not sure why it only happens when I brake hard but it was a little scary considering I just drove it off the lot with 6 miles on the odometer. I HOPE there is a fix!
