On various occasions, I have went to start my car and the car's keyless entry option will work and the lights, radio, ac, all of that will turn on but the car's engine will not turnover. Consequently, I have had to have my car jump started for it to completely turn over. Other times, all of the warning lights will come on and say that all the safety features including, lkas, blind-spot monitor, brake hold, steering, etc. Systems have failed and all warning/error lights/messages will pop up and then will go away after the car has been turned off for 10-15 minutes.

My car lost motive power while driving about 20-25 miles per hour on a city street. I was turning towards the right into a roundabout when the car would not accelerate even though I was pressing on the gas pedal. The car continued to coast for a few seconds and then the engine started again. I do not think the car went into neutral because I did not have to push the ignition start button.

The transmission is extremely jumpy, all of the warning lights come on and flash, along with the engine will power down temporarily. For example one time I was going approx 50mph and it powered down to about 30 mph on the freeway. All of the warning lights start flashing, I pulled over turned the car off and then restarted it. The warning lights remained flashing but the engine functioned but the transmission still was jerky. This was happened at least 5 separate times and we have had it in service with Acura several times and each time they try to fix the same complaints with a different fix. Most recently we had it in for repair for a week, we got it back, drove it 200 miles and the same error happened. Acura finally agreed to replace the transmission and I just picked it back up on 1/6/17 and the same error and transmission issue occurred today. We have notified the dealership, the nmvb, Acura customer relations, and now we are reaching out to the NHTSA. We do not feel safe in this vehicle and we are afraid that the transmission will idle down again on the freeway but maybe in a lane that we cannot immediately pull over safely.

My name is [xxx], in 2014 I walked into marin Acura (located in marin, California) and leased a 2015 Acura Tlx. This was especially an exciting model due to it redesign. Within the first year of my lease I received a recall letter in the mail stating that their was a defect in regards to the transmission. I brought the vehicle to the dealer and they "fixed" it and sent me on my way. One year later, again, I received a letter in the mail from the automobile devision located at your corporate headquarters at 1919 torrance blvd, ca (NHTSA recall # 16V-640). The letter clearly states "if this malfunction were to occur, it could result in an unexpected loss of motor power, which could reduce vehicle control and increases the risk of a crash?. it also states that the ?fix" will become available December 2016, todays date is November 7th, 2016. I have been driving this vehicle for 2 out of my 3 year lease and the transmission has been recalled twice consistently every year. I have put my two children and wife into this vehicle now knowing that the car could have possibly put my family and myself in physical danger and even death. Not because driving is dangerous but because there have been manufacturing defects with the transmission of this Acura model and year. I cannot describe what it feels like to have that on the mind of a parent. I see this being handled in one way. Acura takes away the car and refunds me my total vehicle lease investment along with my down payment. Please take this matter into serious consideration as I am fully prepared to legally escalate this matter beyond the consumer-company level. I can't imagine how many Acura 2015 Tlxs there are nation wide. This experience has been a disaster financially, emotionally and according to Acura potentially physically. I own a 2015 Tlx V4 tech and there seems to be an obvious problem, which the dealerships seems to neglect, with the transmission. I've had my vehicle checked out 2 times since I first purchased it back in July of 2015, and the dealership tech. Specialists know it is there but they aren't able to resolve the problem even through a "software update". the problem is that the vehicle jerks forward, sometime when making a stop it launches forward- as if someone had rear-ended me. The secondary problem is that when I merge onto the freeway there is a major lag and the transmission fails to shift. Takes about 3 seconds to engage to full speed which in terms it's extremely hazardous because of of other vehicles that cease to slowdown and give me the right-of-way. I demand the manufacturer be aware of this issues that I contemplate on a daily basis before something tragic happens to me or my fellow Tlx drivers.

This car is a total lemon - do not purchase. I have had this car to the dealer 9 times in 12 months for non routine maintenance issues and it is getting towed there again today. Myriad of issues from lack of brakes to jerking transmission to flat out won't start. I purchased an Acura for a reliable car and that is most certainly not what I own now. I have an open case with Acura corporate but the dealer (pohanka Acura, chantilly va) will not stand behind the vehicles they sell. Buyer beware of this car!!

Acura 2015 Tlx advanced has hesitation or stumbles when trying to accelerate from low speed up to 40+ mph. (merging into traffic, passing, turning onto entrance ramp, or similar situations) has occurred from delivery. Dealership has twice inspected and states that nothing is wrong. Told me to try this "fix" and let us know. I have driven hundreds of miles in 3 loaner cars of exact same type and all have exhibited same failure. I am a driver with 55 years of experience. This is a design failure. This condition is unsafe and will cause injury or death.

I noticed the first time I accelerated quickly to merge onto the interstate that the engine hesitated at least a second to second and half before accelerating. After that, I started noticing the same hesitation whenever I punched the gas pedal to either merge into traffic or pass someone. I have read on the internet where other owners of this vehicle have the same problem. I just took the car in for it's first oil change and I complained about this issue. The dealer ran several computer software updates on my car and said that it was up to date and that basically that is the way the car is. I feel this is a big safety issue. I have adapted to driving the car with this hesitation, but I'm not happy with it. I think Acura needs to address this problem before someone gets hurt.

The car has times where it stalls or hesitates significantly - this occurs worst in shifting from reverse to drive (there is a several second delay and then a surge forward), and there are hard shifts between 1-2 and 2-3 gears. There are also times where when coasting and you apply throttle, it is unresponsive. There have also been situations where the car downshifts very hard and lurches forward almost uncontrollably (this has only occurred in sport+ mode).

The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent and occurred on several occasions. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200.

I leased my Acura Tlx V6 advanced 2 wheel drive starting in September 2014. Right away, within the first week I started noticing performance issues. This vehicle has an extremely hard shift between 2nd and 3rd gear, causing the car to lurch forward unexpectedly. It is particularly noticeable in "sport" mode. It happens more consistently in stop and go traffic, which coincides with a situation that allows for less reaction time. It also has serious acceleration hesitation throughout all speeds. There have been multiple situations where while merging in traffic or accelerating onto a major highway I have almost been hit because my vehicle was unresponsive. My car has been into Acura twice so far for this issue. The first time I was told it was a "known" issue but there was no fix. The second time I took my car in for the safety recall Acura "changed out the transmission fluid" which was supposed to help - and it didn't. I have another appointment next week for the same issues. Acura client care acknowledged that this is a known problem but that Acura corporate does not have any solutions and it must be taken up with the dealership. The dealership just acknowledges the problem and says to take it up with Acura corporate. This is a dangerous driving situation and I do not feel safe in this vehicle. Acura obviously rolled this car out of the factory knowing they had issues (hence their launch delay in the first place) but were willing to take advantage of the consumer and had no concern for their customers' safety. Buyer beware - do not purchase a Tlx.

The vehicle has a bad hesitation which makes maneuvering in and out of traffic dangerous. Several times while trying to accelerate and pass another vehicle I was almost rear-ended because of this hesitation. After several seconds of hesitating the vehicle lunges forward the RPM indicator shows a drastic increase and the engine fails to down shift properly. I have also noticed after I park my car and get out I notice a burning smell resonating from underneath the vehicle. I have brought my vehicle is for service the dealership has told me there are flaws in the Tlx model and there is nothing they can do. I have also contacted Acura corporate and they have been unresponsive. My feeling is the issues plaguing this car could pose a danger to the driver and other vehicles.

The safety incident(s) to be reported: 1) vehicle seemed to jump into neutral' when decelerating almost to a stop (e.g. to make a turn) resulting in the engine revving and no power when the accelerator is pressed. Tach did not move and the transmission display still reads D. this left me in the middle of an intersection with no power being delivered to the wheels. There was no oncoming traffic. Unfortunately this has happened repeatedly when the engine is cold. So far there have been no accidents. Each of the following safety problems are also ongoing: 2) intermittent and variable duration hesitation from a stopped position (or slowed down to around 10mph or less and then accelerating) makes it dangerous to turn swiftly across oncoming traffic. 3) intermittent and variable duration slipping when trying to accelerate from a slow (10mph or less) coast makes it dangerous to perform any maneuver that requires a swift and reliable response from the transmission. 4) intermittent and variable duration revving between gears when kicking down to try to pass another vehicle makes such maneuvers risky.

Issue 1 - basically, when the car is cold (as in hasn't been driven for about 3 hours or more) it shifts pretty hard 1-2, 2-3, etc. Regardless of the ids mode. However, it seems that it is less pronounced in "econ" mode, probably because it softens the shifts a bit. Sometimes it is more noticeable than other times. It also seems that it is even slipping a bit when accelerating from a stop, kind of like in a manual transmission when you let the clutch slip too much. When the car warms up to operating temp, I really don't notice it shifting hard at all, and in fact the shifts are almost imperceptible 90-95% of the time. Issue 2 - when slowing down (say coming to a traffic light and not coming to complete stop and making right or left turn at say about 10mph speed or so and hit on the gas pedal to speed up, the transmission hesitates and doesn't know which gear to engage thus making a very jerky feel. Issue 3 - I have noticed is that when coming to a stop, sometimes it really slams into first gear, and I mean hard enough to shake the car. This happens rarely, but when it does its very disconcerting. Issue 4 ? there is the 3-4 second delay when I engage the car into the (D) drive position either from (P) park or reverse.

When I am at a complete stop with my foot on the brake, it feels like someone is bumping me from behind to make the car go forward. Or another way of saying would be that the car is trying to accelerate when my foot is on the brake. Also, when accelerating, it feels at times like there is not enough gas and then the car starts speeding up. The transition is not smooth. I was told by the salesperson it was a shifting issue and the car needs to warm up. " it was not a big deal." The problem is there were days that it was warm outside. I have communicated my concerns to the dealer several times; however, they have yet to give me any answers or suggest it may be on a recall. I just contacted another dealer and they said my car is not on recall list. This is a huge worry that there are those of us who are not on the list who are experiencing problems. Clearly, there is a safety issue here and needs to be addressed sooner than later.
