problem #1

Oct 182018

TLX TECH/Paws 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,990 miles

This happens now cntinually. Whether I am coming down the Blue Ridge Mountains or simply travelling down what is probably the steepest hill in Arlington VA, the odometer hits over 3,000 rpms and stepping on the gas does nothing. Only braking will bring it down. I expect the 9 speed transmission to settle on a higher gear thus bringing the rpm's down to around 1500-1600 rpm's but it simply never disengages.

I call it nothing more than bothersome, because I am certain braking will break the problem, since the slower the car goes the RPM's follow, but I have never experienced this in a car before this month.

Also I do not have the transmission problems here-to-fore mentioned. It drives very smoothly whether cold or warm, never lurches ahead, never feels like a washing machine going through inappropriate gears. As a matter of fact, upon acceleratoion on a flat surface the power curve is similar to a Tesla mod 3, it is just that powerful! It simply does not disengage when zipping down a large hill/mountain.
