TSX 2.4L 4 cyl

Problem after problem. first my clutch, then my lean code couldn't be resolved. My VSA light was on, but I fixed it. and my air bag light is also on. Woke up to bring the car to my mechanic for the 50th time in 6 months and heard wining when fully locking the steering wheel. Looked under and have brown fluid on my new driveway. I now have to spend 280 Canadian smackaroonies to fix it. No fanks, I'll just use JB Weld. Although I do believe that when the rack and pinion sh*t on me, it will be a little hard to JB Weld.

The 2006 Acura TSX- Be aware of the power steering problems associated with this vehicle. Between 60-80k the vehicle will start having steering problems. First the power steering pump will leak and fail then the rack and pinion steering will leak and fail. Save around $2500 to cover this expected problem.

A few weeks ago I started having problems with my steering that got progressively worse- the wheel was hard to turn, I couldn't make sharp turns and there was a rattle coming from the front of the car. I figured I must need power steering fluid. I took it to a dealer who informed me I need a power steering rack and pump which will cost $3000. I take my car in to the dealer for regular maintenance and I'm wondering why this problem wasn't noticed before it got this far. I see that Acura recalled the 2004-2008 TSX for this problem - it appears they should have recalled the 2006 model as well! I don't know if it's worth putting $3000 into a 7 year old car with almost 86,000 miles. I bought an Acura because I thought it would last forever if I took care of it, which I have, but apparently I overestimated the qualify of Acura.

After a hard day's work, I started the car to head home. The steering was very hard - I had to do a hard turn. I dropped it at the mechanic, and a few minutes later told me that the Power steering was kaput. He could not find any reason why it had been like that. It may have slowly leaked. Previous maintenance had not recall seeing any leaks.
