A4 Premium 2.0L T

Car started, but within seconds the engine shut off. Of course, the check engine light came on. No matter what I did, the car just would not stay running. AutoZone guy came over from across the street and found it was the Fuel Pressure Regulator that was having trouble (P0089).

The dealership said it needed a new Fuel Pressure Regulator and Fuel Module, and together with the amount of labor would cost me $1,200. WHAT?! I looked up the parts online and found them for less than half of what they were going to charge me. So I had an independent mechanic look at it for me. He replaced the fuel pump (one that supposedly has a regulator in it), and a new fuel filter.

I drove the car for an hour after he replaced those things, and it ran better than it did prior to the incident. However, after parking the car and starting it again, the check engine light was on again and the car wouldn't run. The mechanic is taking another look at the car, but gave no promises. Audis are pretty stupid cars. This car has broken down on me THREE TIMES in the past TWO MONTHS!
