I was driving on the freeway at night. There was a sudden explosion that sounded like a gunshot. I was shocked and afraid. I heard the rain outside, so it seemed like there was a hole in the car. I pulled off the freeway and went to a well lit gas station to inspect the car. The sunroof had exploded upward. Fortunately the fabric sunshade was closed so the shards of glass remained above it. There was no hole in the fabric so nothing had fallen through the glass. There is no trajectory of a rock kicked up by another vehicle that could have exploded a roof outward. I did not go under an overpass from which something could have fallen. There was no rock or meteor in my car-?"as mentioned, the underlying sunshade was not pierced by a falling object. This occurred suddenly and without warning. Consumers are clearly complaining about this problem but nothing is being done. I will talk to my insurance company and Audi tomorrow as this happened late on a Friday night. Audi should not only eat the cost of this repair but these manufacturers should be forced to fix this problem. It is a horrible sudden sound, shards of glass could have hit me driving if the fabric had been open, and anyone in the back seat could have been injured or blinded by shattered glass. This problem has been a problem for years. Shame on everyone for allowing this to continue.

Engine light on Dealership found a rodent nest in the engine space in the car. Dealership considers that fluids used to coat Audi engine wiring attract rodents. Dealership considers this to be a health and safety issue. Dealership considers it essential to replace the Audi air filter. Dealership is checking wires to assess any gnawed damage. I need the engine to be power-washed and the nest area treated w/bleaching agents. I do not have the total estimate on this but it will be greater than $1,000.

While dropping off a passenger at a store front during a rain storm and a few seconds after the passenger exited the vehicle the sunroof glass exploded upward spontaneously! Some glass chunks flew out of the car and then gravity pulled the rest back down inside onto me and scattered around the interior in tiny little shards. Fortunately I was wearing a jacket and nothing got in my hair or on my face so I was able to brush off all debris. My passenger was already outside the car so she was safe. The insurance claim adjuster inspected the damage and it they will cover the repair. My local Audi dealer will be doing the repair. There was no warning of the problem. The glass was in perfect condition prior to this so I am not sure how it could just happen all of the sudden. I am shocked that the glass does not have the plastic layer to prevent shattering when used overhead like this. I just wanted to report it so someone knows it and can try to prevent it from happening again.

Sos light turned on and has been on for a year. I contacted the dealership and it costs $1300 to repair as the car is out of warranty. Doesn't affect the car safety, but this issue appears to be happening to a lot of Audi A4 cars and I think a recall should be issued to fix this as this does not appear to be a one-off issue.

Bang & olufsen trim on front driver's door is peeling off and has cut me a couple of times. I try and push it back onto the door, but it keeps popping off. It is very sharp. Eventually, it broke off and I just stuck it back on the door.

The front crash mitigation system called Audi presence does not work on my car. I bought an Audi certified preowned vehicle that was supposed to have original windshield to find out 6 months after I own car that windshield was replaced and presence does not work. This is a required safety system in my car and will cost 1700 to repair. Audi of America refuses to fix this under warranty despite this being a faulty system. They will not even return my calls or emails. The presence system stops the car so an accident does not occur.

This is a tire complaint about Continental contiprocontact 245/40/R18 79H tires. Audi prestige A4 was purchased from dealer, fletcher jones Audi in Chicago, on 12/29/17. It had been a dealer demonstrator and had very low mileage. It is used mostly for city low speed driving. On 4/25/18 all 4 tires had multiple bubbles in sidewalls and required replacement. New tires with warranty were purchased from dealer. On 7/6/18 one tire was replaced under warranty. On 1/18/19 one tire was replaced with bubbles. On 3/24/19 3 tires were replaced with multiple bubbles in sidewalls. On 4/24/19 another tire was replaced with bubbles in sidewall. As a scientist I have difficulty believing that this is just bad luck. This looks to me like poor engineering or a manufacturing defect. My tires were covered under warranty, and to this point my personal expense has been low. We have not had an actual blowout or accident. Nevertheless, I have safety concerns for myself and the general public. There must be something defective in these tires -- and before another person gets injured or killed from a blowout

While driving 35 mph on a well-paved roadway, my sunroof exploded. I was not hit by a rock or anything else. The only sound I heard was the pop when the explosion happened. Thankfully, my sun shade was closed and the glass did not enter the vehicle.

I had two tire side wall defects that resulted in "ballooning" of the side of the tire. The tires are pirelli 245/40/ R-18. The car has 12,500 miles only. I found out the first big balloon at home and next day noticed the second one smaller but growing.

After parking my car, my daughter, the passenger in the right back seat, opened the door to get out of the car. She suddenly felt acute pain on the top of her foot and saw blood gushing out of it. I went to her side of the car and saw an avulsion of the skin on the top right of the foot, and blood all over the floor of the car and the door. A sharp piece of metal trim labeled "bang & olufson" (see photo) had semi-detached from the door panel and lacerated her foot, piercing through her foot and coming out between her toes. This metal trim piece looked like a sharp knife blade, and had come out of its glued spot on the door, sticking out at a 25-30 degree angle. I put pressure on the wound and removed the piece from the car to prevent further injury, cutting myself in the process. It was covered with blood. I immediately drove her to the er at mercy hospital. Dr. miller, a plastic surgeon, spent 2 hours cleaning the wound, pulling the flayed skin back to its original position, and stitching tendons and blood vessels that were affected in the injury. He placed continuous absorbable sutures the length of the wound. (see photo) she was discharged with orders not to walk or put any weight on the foot, except to go to the bathroom, for at least 3 weeks. The doctor told her she may lose the skin on the foot and may have to receive skin grafts to repair the wound. My daughter was in excruciating pain and it is still unknown whether she will have permanent scarring or pain, or if she will regain full functioning of the foot. She has undergone a course of antibiotics and remained on bed rest for 30 days since the incident. The sharp metal blade was only glued on the door surface, with no screws to attach it to the door. This is what appeared to cause this blade to detach from the door and stab into my daughter's foot.
