The rear taillight warning for the left or right taillight may display in instrument cluster upon vehicle start. The vehicle taillights are operating normally. DTCs are sporadically found in the comfort system central control module, J393 (address word 46). An intermittent taillight warning upon vehicle start may be possible in extremely cold weather, but rear light functionality is not lost. An ignition key cycle will reset the warning.
