S4 Quattro Premium Plus 3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,222 miles

The electric steering problem ranges from a mild, directional vagueness at speed (in my case above 75 miles per hr) to a very noticeable and disconcerting notchiness/jerking in the wheel. Reported the problem and the car is at the Audi service center. They said the problem is with the suspension, steering rack joint, I will get the car back in a few days, but I am skeptical that they can fix this problem.

S4 Prestige 3.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 25,000 miles

I've been reading complaints about the S4 steering and I'm thinking ... seriously ... WHY DID YOU BUY THIS CAR? So here's the deal - especially with the 19" Conti's - this car has some real road feel that is transmitted through the steering wheel. If you want a land yacht buy a Buick! Got vibration? Roads mostly suck in the US That being said - if you still love the car but these things bother you - buy a set of the Goodyear's. They will keep you safely and comfortably disconnected from the road, ideally on the 18" wheels.
