  • Automatic transmission
  • 108,200 miles

The first signs were when I shifted into reverse (automatic transmission). It felt like the transmission was trying to be in forward and reverse at the same time. This got worse and worse until it started doing this when I put the car in drive. It got so bad that the car wouldn't move and had to be turned off and put in neutral and pushed. Even shifting into neutral with the engine running made the car move forward. We rebuilt the valve body and she's fine now. They say that the unit uses high pressure to move the valves in the valve body. One of the check valves was so worn out that it went through the hole and was in the wrong place. At least they have a rebuild kit for the transmission.

The valve body controls the transmission. The worn parts were causing the valve body to tell the transmission to be in forward and reverse gears at the same time. My mechanic told me there is some hard parts damage and we're gambling by just doing the valve body.
