2006 BMW 750 li. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle oil leak and major mechanical problems. The dealer agreed to fix the vehicle. However, when the consumer picked the vehicle up, the leak was still present. The consumer went to another dealer, where she was informed the vehicle had multiple leaks; the alternator mount bracket seal was leaking, as well as the valve guide seals, the upper timing case cover seals, the valley pan was leaking coolant and the vacuum pump was leaking. The mechanic stated even though the vehicle had a good appearance, he observed signs of wear on the engine parts and road grime and stains on other engine parts. Updated 04/16/14.

Driving, with my wife as passenger, on 118 fwy, in simi valley California at approx. 11:30 pm on June 6 when air bags deployed without warning, and without collision or impact. Engine was disabled and I was miraculously able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road, despite lack of vision from airbag and from dust inside vehicle. No indication of any impact whatsoever. Vehicle was completely disabled and I was barely able to get vehicle out of traffic lane. Dashboard had two messages: 1. "engine malfunction" 2. "fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt force limiter" vehicle was towed to a local BMW vehicle on Monday, June 10, and I have been waiting to hear something/anything from BMW factory ever since. Clearly, this accident could very well have been a fatality had there been traffic on the freeway or had we not been extremely fortunate.

Crank case vent valve/breather failure after long trips, no indication of the failure unitl car gives check engine light usually after the trip the next day, check engine light to late part failure already causes motor issues after issues (oil leaks, blown gaskets and seals, misfire, rough idle, vehicle stalling) from the pressure on the engine from the failed component (crank case vent breather/valve) and have been known to cause excessive smoking from tail pipe or simulations of a fire.

. while driving I came to a intersection I depressed the brake pedal but the brakes did not respond. I continually applied pressure to the brake pedal until the brakes responded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing where the mechanic replaced the front brakes and rotors. The mechanic found contamination in the brake booster and notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 10V446000 (service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum) the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer changed the valves & then told me I had to pay for diagnostic cause the breaks weren't working which I did paid $149 plus tax. After the diagnostic the technician stated that the brake booster would have to be replaced. Per the recall, the brake booster could become contaminated over time due to the recalled failure. The manufacture advised me that the repairs would not be covered.

The contact owns a 2006 BMW 750li. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing which located the failure as the engine thermostat. The dealer replaced the thermostat twice under warranty but the failure was not corrected. The check engine light remained illuminated and the vehicle would lose power. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who performed another diagnostic test which located the failure as the engine wiring harness. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 52,000 and current mileage 83,000.

Have a 2006 BMW 750I and was out running errands. I stopped at the dry cleaners to get my clothing. I only turned the vehicle off for about 10 minutes while I went inside the dry cleaners. I paid for my items and went to restart the engine but when I put the vehicle in reverse no movement happened. I shut the vehicle down completely and restarted it. I put the vehicle in R for reverse and it switched back to P for park. The vehicle again was turned off and restarted and it did the same thing nothing. I called my spouse and he was able to put the vehicle in reverse by edging the vehicle while in reverse mode. While my spouse was backing out of the parking space the vehicle jerked. I often notice that if I park on a hill and go in reverse the vehicle jerks and makes a loud noise I just had the vehicle serviced recently and according to the inspection that the BMW service did the transmission is good.

When pushing on the gas, the vehicle would stall, RPM's would shoot up, and would take 3-10 seconds to re-gain any power before the vehicle would begin to accelrate. Also once coming up to a stoplight or stop sign, the vehicle would feel as if someone had slammed into the back of me possibly jerking into gear. Spent countless times at the dealership with them giving me the run around, replacing random parts before replacing the entire transmission and still the vehicle continues to have issues.

I am seeking assistance in the matter of having a defective engine in my 2006 750I BMW. We have had this vehicle since Oct. 2008 and we have kept scheduled maintenance on it as prescribed. Recently after taken the car to the shop for light smoke coming out of the tail pipe it was discovered that our engine was possibly bad and needed to be replaced. That first we were told that BMW would most likely cover parts if we were to have the engine broke down to see exactly what the problem was. Which we agree to; before the engine was broke down and the cause was known we were told that regardless of what was wrong with the engine they were not going to help. We continued with the break down to discover that the engine is in fact bad and it is "very unusual" for the engine to be in the shape it was in. Mind you the engine only has 59000 miles on it and was under warranty up unto 50000 miles. The 2011 BMW they say will run up 300000 miles the average BMW engine will run over 200000 mile and my only went up to 59000 mile which was time of determining that the engine was bad. That isn't even a quarter of what BMW engines will do, so it is clear that the engine is one out of the few that come off the line with major defects. I would like BMW to take responsibly for their defected engine and pay to have it replaced. As of now my family and I are hadn't to come out of pocket for around $29,000 for a new engine because BMW will not assist us in this matter. Attached are the reading and measurement that the mechanic took and declared the engine to be bad. Further more we had never had any problems with our car until after getting and oil change at BMW of nashville where the car is still currently in the shop.

Problem with engine oil consumption; on April 2007 -mileage 8936 warning -low oil-ad 1.5Q. On 29 May 2007-warn low oil- ad 1.5Q oil. On Aug 2007-warn low oil-ad 1.5 Q oil on Dec 2007-warn low oil-added 2.5 Q oil Sept 30 2008-warn low oil-added 1 Q oil at loc dealership. This is not a normal oil consumption of the high end vehicle BMW series 7 or any other high end vehicle. So far I have not been given a reasonable explanation. Dealer ship (peake BMW) is advising that no oil leaks noted and oil not coming out trough the tail pipe " so what is going on" can someone at bwm recognize and acknowledge this problem or do I have to go back and contact BMW in germany and ask for their assistance. I have had and still do ( mb S500, BMW 535I etc.) and never had any problem like this. Have other vehicles and trucks and never had to add any oil in between the services. This is embarrassing, driving $85K vehicle and have to stop at the gas station to fill up some oil "?"
