The same problem appeared 5 times: " Check Engine" in one year. Every time the dealer replaced either the fuel tank vent valve and/ or carbon canister. The problem went away temporarily but came back soon. The dealership consulted BMW also. Last time they suggested to replace both. But this too did not work.
A week ago, the dealer kept the car for 10 days and replaced both parts again in addition to gas tank. I don't know if this fixed the problem.
