This is a fairly known or common issue with the BMW and has been happening for a long while, see the link below .. or just search for BMW Glove Compartment Peeling and you get lots. Some folks said their dealership worked with them and either fixed if not under warranty or discounted the fix, which from reading is a glove compartment door replacement. Somewhere around 500 dollars for part and effort. This is an obvious and longstanding issue with BMW design and I am fairly surprised it is not covered as a recall. I couldn't find one. BMW -- really should add this as a recall item so owners don't' have to pay to fix and long standing issue and design flaw. Dealerships, work with your customers to offset the cost at least for this repair. I called two dealerships today and both basically played, your warranty ended in Feb 2019, sorry you have to pick up the bill.
