problem #2

X5 Sports Activity 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,110 miles

Electric Water Pump failed which caused the secondary fan to turn on and never shut off. This seems to be a re-occurring issue for all X5's - hence why it should have been a recall and not an owners expense. It was diagnosed and fixed by a certified BMW Dealer

X5

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,000 miles

For a luxury/performance vehicle, this failure should not be occurring. BMW had issues with 2011-12 versions of this vehicle which ended up in a recall, but the 2013 model is not under recall, so I had to pay for the repair myself. In addition, other problems were found with the vehicle, which I will log as separate issues, but in total my repairs are over $5,000 on a vehicle with only 45,000 miles. BMW offered nothing to help with the cost of repairs ---- I will never buy or recommend a BMW. Their reputation is shot in my opinion.
