mobile app does not remote start engine and warm car

I was specifically told by salesman that I could remote start the vehicle with the OnStar app. Not true. That only works if remote start is built into the car. So much for truth in this day and age!!!!! Parts manager at this dealership says that there is no GM remote starter that can be installed. Again another affront to a senior citizen!
