problem #2

Envision Premium 4 cyl-Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

Interior dash lights will dim and then go out randomly during the day and at night-local dealer told us that we did not have the thumb wheel pushed up all the way-not true--will continue to take it in until they get it fixed, scary driving at dusk and dark-can't see the dash--bad safety issue!!!!

Envision Premium 1 AWD 2.0L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,800 miles

Driving in early or late daylight, but bright, the dash lights severely dim when driving through the shadows of trees or bridges (any shadowy areas). They do not brighten again even if returning to sunny areas, making any use of instruments or navigation very dangerous as cannot see them. You have to stare at them to get an idea of any readings you need, meaning a 3-5 second period when eyes are off the road. To dealer a couple of times, but the sales team always attempted to diagnose and it seems they think it is my imagination. Will make an appointment soon for service. One responder to your site with same problem said they found tech bulletin but I cannot locate. Will mention to service department when I make appointment. It is mid-May and car purchased last of September 2016. We have 4950 miles on car, it is a 2016 Buick Envision Premium 1.

Update from Oct 6, 2017: Wackerli Buick in Idaho Falls, ID "reprogrammed the BCM using Technical Bulletin # 17148". 2 failures since in 8K miles; once holding the control dial up for 6-7 seconds brought dash/nav lites back but the dial did nothing the second time. Had to stop engine and restart car-they returned to normal brightness.
