LeSabre Custom

  • Automatic transmission

This is a problem, that happens when the car has warmed up and I have drive perhaps 100 miles. I get a hard shift at 15, 25, and 45 mph. This will continue for the remainder of the trip. Then the next day it is fine, no hard shift. It throws a code P1811 Max Adapt and long shift. One shop wanted to rebuild the transmission for $1,600. Mechanically car is great, body no rust, so I want to keep. Any suggestions?

Intermittent problem. May not happen everyday, but a few times a week. Any known things to look at?
