problem #1

Jun 082011

Park Avenue 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

Vehicle started problem on highway. Engine light came on (it is currently ALWAYS on) gas pedal would not work,

it started chugging and would turn off. Many times it would give no warning and just shut off while driving. SO.....we started with the lousy computer codes (what a joke). Here is the list of joyous money sucking parts that were changed and the dates. 6/6/11-B1-S1 Oxygen Sensor, 6/16/11-Fuel Filter, 2/17/12-MAF Sensor, 5/7/12-

Crank Sensor and ignition wires, 5/22/12-Ignition Control Module, 7/6/12-Electric Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter, 7/29/13-MAP Sensor!!!!!! The fuel pump SEEMS to be the actual fix. After $1000.00 was dumped into this car, she did stop shutting off while driving. (We would sit on the roadside for a bit then it would re-start, That was because the fuel pump would cool down.) It randomly shuts off immediately after starting and also has a new engine miss. The sad part is we bought it with only 62,000 miles on it, perfect leather seats and all of the interior is like new. There is not a single spot of rust on the exterior or even the underside. Literally a beautiful car. ( The MAP sensor was changed for the current miss-fire issue. DID NOT WORK!!!! ) I miss my Cadillacs. The funny thing about the car is that through all of the problems, it gets 30 MPG!!!! Unbelievable!
