problem #2

Feb 062013

Park Avenue 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 88,000 miles

When the car starts to get warm and you need to do a lot of sudden stops or heavy braking (i.e. rush hour traffic in Arizona) the car starts to shift hard and almost jerk forward on up-shifts. I have not had a problem down-shifting however. When the car starts doing that, I can turn it off and let it set for about 5 minutes, and restart it and the problem stops. I've been told the problem could be the shift solenoid in the transmission
