Rainier ES 3.2L V6

The steering was very very stiff. It got to the point that we couldn't drive the car. The problem turned out to be the transfer case which I was told had been a problem from the beginning with this model and year. GM even issued a recall in 07 I was told. Unfortunately we didn't own the car then so we missed out on getting it repaired under any warranty. I spent almost 4,000 to get this problem fixed. I reported it to GM and all they would do is offer me 1000.00 off a brand new vehicle. We took it to the dealer several times and they tried everything but in the end the transfer case was faulty and needed to be replaced. Seems like GM should help us since they identified this model and year as having a transfer case problem early on.
