Regal LS 3.8L

Had to replace the power steering pump. Not a big deal. But now, found out the power steering was messing up again. Called a repair shop and they told me to check the power steering fluid before bringing it down there. Checked and it was low. Put some Lucas in there and haven't had any problems in a month, but I'm still keeping my eye on it because I know it was leaking from the Rack and Pinion (will cost $300 to replace) and the Lucas says it will even fix those leaks, but doesn't seem likely even for Lucas.

Poor design....Power steering pump "buried" lower right side of cowling....Owner cannot access to check fluid level...Pump shaft seal failed due to low fluid level....First hint of problem was hard steering....Evidently the folks at "qick" oil change facilities never checked fluid level ....NOTE: Interesting...owners manual was of no help when I tried to finf pump filler cap....It pictured the cap, but the location apparently was "generic" and did not pertain to this particular engine.....See more problems this vehicle...
