Verano Convience

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

Purchased 2013 Verano less than 2 weeks ago and noticed problem with the steering wheel sticking. This is really starting to make me nervous as I drive 60 miles one way to work. I can see this causing an accident if it gets worse. I have an appointment at the dealership tomorrow. If anyone has had this and its been fixed I would really like to know.

Highway speed the steering sticks, dead area if you move the steering wheel to the right of center about 1 inch of steering wheel movement, car then drifts to the right while in dead area. Steered to the left to correct and almost lost control on snow covered I-94 as car swerved to the left. This occurs on dry pavement also and at any temperature above and below freezing.

I receiver a recall / take to dealer for problem. Dealer didn't correct steering problem ( car steers to left ) since I believe it caused me to have an accident. It did not do mush damage, but i think Buick ought to pay for repairs, not my insurance company. I have a form 14232 form to return to General Motors Product Field Action Customer Reimbursement Request From. The car was purchased at Wilson Powell Lincoln Mercury Inc in Baltimore, Maryland. The Ga dealer doesn't want to take on the liability for the repairs with out payment.

I have a 2013 Buick Verano that when I get up to 65+ and going in a straight line then need to make a small correction to stay in the lane the steering wheel feels likes it sticks. Once you get it to move its fine until you hold it for a few seconds. When you get it moving it always makes a jump in my lane. It will make me swerve to the other side of my lane. I have had this looked at by two separate buick dealers and they could not find anything visibly wrong. The only answer was that it being electric steering, it will feel different.

Verano

So see my other rants about the front end shake. I think this is somehow related. So once the shake returned at 7,000 miles, the steering started sticking. This only occurs when cruise is on that I have noticed. I set at 75 and get on a straight highway section. When I need to turn or adjust steering, the steering wheel is a little locked and I have to use some force to get it to move. I can only only describe this as sticky. Once it moves it moves freely but has some play in it. Then when I am back to a straight section, maybe for only 4-5 seconds, it locks up again.

I have not brought this in yet but will be in the next couple weeks.
