During a service appointment, on my 2014 Cadillac CTS, the dealership pointed out that both axle seals on the differential appears to be leaking. On a subsequent inspection conducted on 8/24/2021, by the dealership, it was confirmed that both axle seals were leaking. At the time of the inspection the vehicle had 120,873 miles showing on the odometer. These two reports were the initial indication that the axle seal were leaking. The dealership has maintained the vehicle since I purchased it from them. I checked to see was if there was a Service Bulletin on this issue, but there was none. However, there was a Service Bulletin (Bulletin No. PIP5075A) concerning "Rear Axle Leak From The Vent" on the differential on the 2011-2013 Cadillac CTS and CTS-V. I contend that GM over compensated for the vent leak and now the vent on the differential of the 2014 Cadillac CTS does not release the built up air pressure which is causing the seals to leak. It is only a matter of time when the differential will lock up due to lack of lubricant and cause a serious accident. I contacted GM on this issue, but they do not want to admit there is a problem. However, if you look up complaints on the internet, there are many many people with this issue on Cadillac's CTS and ATS. There needs to be at a minimum a Service Bulletin issued. I would recommend a recall to correct this problem.

ON 8/24/2021 APPROX 9:45AM I RETURNED HOME FROM THE MARKET AS I WAS PARKING MY VEHICLE (BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE) ISHIFT MY VEHICLE CONTROL TO THE REAR POSITION AND IT LOCK UP IT WAS STUCK AND WOULD NOT RELEASE I WAS SHOCKED AND UPSET BECAUSE THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE WAS STILL IN THE WAY OF PASSING VEHICLE SO I TUNED MY FRONT WHEELS IN AS MUCH AS I COULD BUT THAT WAS ALL I COULD DO I HAD TO KEEP MY FOOT ON THE BREAKS SO THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ROLL BACK AND SLAM INTO THE TRUCK BEHIND ME, I CALL THE DEALERSHIP FC KERBECK 100 ROUTE 73 NORTH PALMYRA N.J I TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THAT I WAS UPSET AND DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO I STILL HAD MY FOOT ON THE BREAKS BECAUSE I DID'NT KNOW IF IT WAS SAFE TO TURN OFF MY VEHICLE OR WHAT AFTER I WAS DISCONNECTED I CALLED BACK AND I WAS INFORMED ON HOW TO SAFLEY SHUT DOWN MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP I FOUND A RECALL ON THE ISSUE FROM GENERAL MOTORS JUNE 2014 SAYING THAT THE DRIVER MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION IN AND OUT OF GEAR DUE TO THE SHIFT CABLE NOT BEGIN SECURED AND THAT IT COULD SLIP OUT OF THE BRACKETS AND THE DRIVER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING RESULTING IN A CCIDENT WHEN I MENTION THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY CLAIM THAT THEY NEVER HAD ANY RECALLS ON THID SAFTEY ISSUE I PURCHASE MY VEHICLE IN 2017 SO THEY WERE WELL AWARE THAT THIS COULD BE A SAFTEY ISSUE SOME WHERE DOWN THE LINE BUT THEY FAILED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CONSUMER WAS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE THAT THEY COULD HAVE BETTER CONTROL IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS SHOULD HAPPEN i WAS SO UP SET AND SHOCK THAT THIS HAD HAPPEN MY GEARS WERE LOCK DOWN I COULD NOT AT THAT TIME MOVE MY VEHICLE. I brought my car to my trusted local mechanic, and he informed me that the noise I was hearing from the rear of my car was the differential. He also informed me that it was dangerous because it could lock up, causing my car to go into a skid and lose control. I did some due diligence on the internet and discovered it-€™s a common problem, and although it has been recalled on the sub model of the V sport, the standard CTS has not been recalled.

The speed was reduced however, the sound became louder. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear differential had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was contacted and informed of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 177,000.

Heard a whining noise coming from the back of my vehicle when stepping on the accelorator, took my vehicle in to get a inspection and turns out the roll pins in the rear-axle differential are close to fracturing, increasing the risk of a crash. There is already a recall in this reguard to 2014-15 Cadillac Cts (V-sport) models but no other Cts models get the recall. I have a 2014 Cadillac Cts (luxury) sedan, hoping there will be a recall for all Cts models in regards to the huge safety issue.

Starting around the end of February, my 2014 Cts 3.6 AWD started to have noise from the rear end while driving. The noise becomes louder if I drive faster and the car wobbles. I feel extreme unsafe and have visited individual mechanics, and mechanics told me the issue is from the rear differential. They said they don't have the parts, and cannot fix the problem. Through my research, the rear differential problem seems to be common among the Cts model. However, while there is a recall for the Cts vsport, no actions are taken for other versions of Cts. From NHTSA complaint site, several compliant cases have been filed for the non-sport Cts. There are other cases mentioned across the internet: Https://youtu.be/ucmimohfepq. This problem sould be taken seriously to avoid safety risks. I believe this rear differential issue is a serious safety problem. I would like to 1.get replacement part and service from the manufacturer to fix the rear differential issue on my car and get reimbursement for all costs 2.urge the manufacturer to put the Cts make onto the recall list for safety of other Cts owners.

There have been many, many complaints about the 2014 Cadillac Cts 3rd gen rear differential going out at way to soon. Before the 80K mile mark in alot of these cars. As expensive and rare as this part is, it should not be failing or leaking so soon, as it is the main part that moves the wheels in a rwd car. I did not believe it at first but after my purchase the rear differential went bad at only 75K miles. I replaced it, with a used rear diff that had only 50K miles, 10K miles later, it starts leaking and going bad again. Even used ones are a whopping $1K and up. This part should definitely be investigated at all dealerships nationwide, I assure you that there is an unreasonable amount of records of this part going bad to soon.

Bought this car and after buying it, I heard a vibration. First I thought it was the road and then thought it was the tires. I started checking around for tires when it became very noisy so I called the dealer. He first said it was the power train fluid needed changed but later called and said it was the torque converter. This car has less tha 40,000 miles.

On October 27th, I took my car to the shop for an oil change and inspection. I was told by the mechanic that my rear differential was going out and there were metal shavings in the compartment. The sales rep, nick, said there was not a recall and the repair would be $3300. Through my research that there is a recall for "defective rolling pins in the rear differential that were fatiguing and fracturing and eventually causing the rear end to lock up" but only for the 2014 Cadillac Cts-V not the regular Cts. Since this was a safety issue, I had to rent a car on 11/11 to get to and from work. After conversations not receiving any cooperation from Cadillac corporation, I was referred to GM corporation. They negotiated a discount, reducing the cost for repair from $3300 to $1400. The repair was not completed until 12/1. they reduced the price by another $500 the day I picked up my car. So, I paid $900 for the repair and $517.17 for the car rental (total $1,417.17). Although they significantly reduced the cost of the repair, I still believe this was a safety issue and an expense that should have been covered in the recall. The rear differentials in a Cadillac Cts-V and Cts are the same. The Cts-V has a stronger engine, meaning more torque, which means the rear differential in the normal Cts should last even longer. My 2014 Cadillac only had 70,000 miles; therefore, the rear differential should not have gone out so soon. I would like to be reimbursed for all costs and see this item put on the recall list for the safety and benefit of other Cts owners.

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated while his sister was driving 40 mph, she heard an abnormal noise. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The driver continued driving to her destination. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the mechanic stated that the rear differential was needing to be replaced. The contact called gateway Chevrolet Cadillac (501 38th St S, fargo, nd 58103; (701) 282-5522) and made the dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 20V038000 (power train) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

This complaint is regarding an active recall on my Cadillac...manufacturer recall numbern192279370 and NHTSA recall number20V038. I was notified of this recall and in May 2020 that the parts to fix the car were now available. I went to make an appointment for the repair and the parts were no longer available and were on back order. As of this date the parts are still not available. It sounds like this recall could potentially be a serious issue, but GM seems like they are dragging their feet on fixing the problem! it will soon be 5 months since I was notified of the parts supposedly being available but my car is still not repaired. It seems a bit unreasonable to me for this to be taking soooo long to fix a serious flaw in the differential. Is there anything that can be done to speed this process up? thank you for any assistance that you can offer.

The contact called earnhardt chandler Cadillac (1450 S gilbert rd, chandler, AZ 85286) where he was informed that the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact was also informed that he would receive a call once the parts arrived. A month later the same dealer was contacted and he received the same information. Two months later he called coulter Cadillac tempe (7780 S autoplex loop building 200, tempe, AZ 85284) where he was again informed that the parts were unavailable. They also informed him that he had to wait a few months for the parts to arrive. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

There is a recall on my vehicle, pertaining to the rear-axle differential, GM recall N192279370. I was notified of this recall during the first quarter of 2020. I received a letter stating that parts were available mid-May 2020. On June 29th 2020, I contacted my local Cadillac dealer, harvey Cadillac of grand rapids, to request the necessary parts to repair the vehicle. They were unable to give any timeline on parts availability or timeline on repairs. I was unable to get a loaner or rental assistance through harvey Cadillac and was instructed to contact Cadillac customer care for further assistance. I made contact initially on July 7th 2020 and was given a case number and received a boilerplate response about lack of parts via voicemail. In documents submitted to the NHTSA, GM stated that courtesy transportation may be made available until repairs were able to be made, and referenced company memos indicating how this were to take place. Further contact to Cadillac customer care requesting this loaner/rental assistance via multiple telephone calls, voicemails, and social media went unanswered. I have not been able to make contact or prompt any response since that initial July 7th despite multiple attempts. Harvey Cadillac on August 17th stated no progress has been made on parts availability or a time frame on when the repair could be completed. Today's date is August 31st, 2020, and it has been nine weeks since I initially called to schedule repairs for a serious safety issue that could put my families safety at risk. I have been advised by dealer and corporate representatives that I should avoid driving the vehicle if possible, as the rear differential could lock up and cause a crash at any time without prior warning, but have been given no solution or assistance as to how to accomplish such a measure. I have no estimated date when the repairs could be completed.

My car is part of recall #N192279370 which was issued almost 8 months ago. The recall is for an issue with the rear differential which can lock up and seize without any warning or symptoms. GM has deemed the car safe to drive despite saying this in the recall notice..."if the condition occurs while driving, the rear wheels may lock up. This may affect the driver's ability to control the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash." For almost 8 months now I have been waiting for the parts to be sent to the dealer to fix the car. I am afraid to drive it and it has been sitting in the garage for the majority of the past 8 months, which has left my family short a car. GM will not provide a rental car at this time, which the possible exception of when the car is actually in for service once the parts finally arrive. At this time there is still no firm date on when the new parts might arrive and I am left with a car that could have the rear wheels completely lock up without warning at any time should I choose to drive it. This is dangerous and unacceptable.
