CTS RWD Luxury 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

I purchased this car in May 2018 and really didn't notice a problem until I was driving back from Kansas City with my daughter. Driving on the interstate, around 78MPH and when there is little load on the V6 engine it switches to V4. I noticed that when it went into V4 I could feel a slight vibration through my feet and the steering wheel. It was like on a regular engine if you unplugged a plug wire. According to everything I have read, the deactivation of the cylinders is supposed to be a seamless switch. The dealer has had the car for a week and this is what they say.

Tech Test drove while performing a live data test for engine and transmission, afterward tech contacted TAC line and shared data with TAC to which they stated they saw no abnormal operations. TAC Case 9-4986344790-Neal. No Correction at this time.

It happens at all speeds when it deactivates two cylinders.
