The regulators on all four power windows broke, all while driving on higher speed roads (main thoroughfares or highways), three out of four on occasions with inclement precipitous weather and/or extreme cold. This was not only expensive to repair each time, but created an unsafe driving environment exposing the driver and passengers to the elements! a representative at the dealer in nashville said the company knew this was common but never was held to a recall. Over $1,200 for repairs over the years because of some cheap chinese-made plastic parts! how do I know that the replacements will hold up? having just found out about this site, I can't begin to imagine what happened to the receipts, but I needed emergency repairs while traveling between NJ and tn. The first event was about 12 years ago (the date below is an estimate for the first one of the incidents, but there were four total). The mileage for the first event is merely a guestimate of 75,000 miles. The vehicle now has over 203,000 miles. The last of four was about five or six years ago. Unbelievable to me that Cadillac has done nothing and wasn't held to a recall!

When driving the car the "service engine soon" light would come on. I took it to the local GM dealer and the told me the computer was bad and needed to be replaced. They got the new part in and tried to program it and "fried" the part. After trying 13 units I was told that there is a defect in the part and that GM was sending 2 engineers to Mexico to investigate the factory where they are made. It was then determined that it is now a software issue that GM changed the software over 1 1/2 years ago and upload procedure and was now looking to see where the problem is. It has now been 6 weeks since my car has been in the shop and I have no estimation as to when the problem will be solved. I was also told that there are as amny as 10 to 20 cars around the us with the same problem and are unreapairable at this time. It is obvious that GM knew they had a problen since they changed the procedure 1 1/2 years ago since my car is not the first to experience this.

The letter I just received states "schedule an appointment with your Cadillac dealer as soon as possible" I was given a date of December 1, 2014. To bring the car in for the GM recall 14299 to be done to the vehicle. That is 50 days from now. That is unbelievable...almost 2-months in advance. General Motors you should understand why are dealerships taking this in stride" I think this is unconscionable to have an appointment so far in the future when my life could be at stake, or my family" I think this recall should be on the dealers top list of having this done as soon as possible. In days, not the way I have been treated. The name of the dealership is kenny ross somerset, Pennsylvania.
