This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp and a reduce propulsion message on the Driver Information Center. Technician may find multiple battery voltage performance codes. Technician should record all the Diagnostic Trouble Codes in a session log. Technician should determine if the Diagnostic Trouble Codes are related to one battery interface module. If the Diagnostic Trouble Codes are across the pack in multiple sections technician will need to update the Battery Energy Control Module and Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 2 using Service Programming System. If the Diagnostic Trouble Codes return after updating, the technician will need to contact General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance.
