THIS IS FOR SAFETY RECALL IN oct 2019- regarding the brakes- it has ALREADY BEEN MADE AWARE TO DOT. This is in regards to getting a refund for my almost 4k out of pocket expense. The brakes went out completely in sept 2019 ( in 5-7 mph I could not stop in traffic even with them all the way pushed to the floor. and caused a front end collision ad the brakes been working normally this would have never happened. I was wondering what i needed to do ( or if i can ) to get reimbursed for the damages that i incurred on fixing my vehicle. ( around 4,000). Or if i need to notify Cadillac of this issue. Also the vehicle went in for repairs after the recall was issued ( we were never told or advised by the dealer that there was a recall open) and have no idea why the dealer would not even tell us, or advise us of such.

I have a 2015 Cadillac Escalade. It has been well taken care of. To my disappointment, this vehicle has been a money pit since day one. We have had to have all shocks replaced two times since January 16, 2020, costing thousands of dollars. The front cross bar was replaced the first time the shocks were replaced. The airconditioning system went out in the summer of 2020, replacement cost over $2500 The back suspension was just replaced in December 2022 for $2100. Running board motor wore out. Radio touch screen had to be replaced because it did not respond to tounch $1400 No warning lights appeared. SAFETY ISSUES**** The automatic seatbelt system no longer works since August 2022. Now the side detection system doesn't work since December 2022, replacement cost will be $1500 These have both been inspected by a dealer. These put myself, my passengers, and others at risk by not properly ensuring their safety while in my car and drivers in my blind spot. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle any longer. I don't know when or where it will malfunction next and that will extremely dangerous to those in my car and driving along side me. Needless to say, this vehicle has cost us more money than the beauty of the vehicle. These are a just a few of the issues we have encountered while owning it and I can honestly say, we will probably not purchase another Cadallic again.

My vehicle stops running when I am placing it in reverse or making slow turns. The car turns off and the driver assist screen turns off (cameras do not work) and then my car says 'service: Driver assist'. I have been driving at a low rate of speed on the street and my car stops running and the steering wheel becomes very tight and hard to turn. When I am backing into a parking space, my steering wheel is hard to turn and the car shuts off and the screen that shows my cameras goes out and then the car comes back on. It is very scary. I am very afraid that the car will stop running while in motion again and cause an accident. I have contacted onstar about this and requested roadside assistance, it was the weekend and they would not send them. The car turning off has occurred more than 7 times in the past month. It started in April 2020.

S10 dot/I: letter from congressman cline on behalf of constituent regarding the difficulty she is experiencing with her 2015 Cadillac Escalade (attn: Kjersten croke). The consumer stated the vehicle's radiator leaked due to excessive recycling of the thermostat. Coolant was leaking from the radiator tubes. This failure was repaired per the technical bulletin 9I1513E. The vehicle would vibrate. Repairs were attempted, but the vibrations recurred. The trim on the drivers side was loose. The interior and exterior lights would remain on after the vehicle was powered off causing the battery to die. The dealership was unable to determine the cause of the failure.

This is an exhaust fume related complaint that is also related to an electrical component failure of the rear hatch locking mechanism. When the rear hatch locking mechanism is not fully engaged the liftgate is not completely closed allowing gas fumes to enter the vehicle and it has a really bad exhaust fumes smell..... the gas is entering the vehicle co carbon monoxide hydrocarbons and methane gas CH4

Here's a youtube link for the previous complaint that I filed..... it is for the rear hatch locking mechanism with an open flame. I previously reported the rear hatch locking mechanism failure back in April may and the rear hatch was not locking and it was not actually closing all the way. My granddaughter almost fell out of the back of the vehicle why was driving down the road. I did ask GM to note the rear hatch locking mechanism failure issue. I received a recall letter October 2018 stating the vehicle may experience a temporary loss of electric power steering. I had work done on September 24, 2018 at castle Buick for that problem. I should be reimbursed for the cost of repair that was covered by my own extended warranty. It cost me $1,037.18 plus $170 deductible, which totals $1,207.18. I then received a letter dated November 12, 2018 from Cadillac customer assistance stating that the repair that was performed at GM was not the repair covered by the recall. The problem was for the steering. The steering wheel was snapping back when I tried to turn which was causing my wrist to become sore. It was a steering problem in the beginning, and I had no control over the automobile. GM put a whole new motor assembly in the car instead of rectifying the problem of the software.
