I am scared to drive my 2010 Cadillac srx at night due to the lights are so dim like driving with a flashlight. This is a serious problem that GM needs to address and recall the cars and fix them properly. What are they waiting for someone to be killed by this issue? Class action lawsuits are going on right now for this issue and we all need to ban together so that GM will recall and fix properly.

I noticed fogging in my headlights sometime around Feb or March in 2020. Bought a compound to try to correct but it did nothing. Then I received a postcard in the mail about the lawsuit so I took the card to Bomarrito Cadillac in St Peter’s, as we were still living there at the time. I was told by the service advisor that my car was not one of the VIN #’s affected so the postcard was inaccurate.

We moved to Florida in September.

We went back to Missouri for Thanksgiving and on the drive home, through Atlanta at rush hour the right front headlight went out. We had to end up getting a hotel instead of driving on to Florida as I had difficulty seeing and also did not want to get pulled over. The day after getting home I made an appointment with Trent at my local dealership, thinking it was just a bulb that went out. So I waited at the dealership for it to get changed.

The service advisor informs me 3 hours later it isn’t just the bulb, it is a known defective headlamp on the car and the seals on both sides are rotted so both sides are filled with water. It was only a matter of time before the left lamp goes out. I told him about the postcard and was told that lawsuit ended in July so I couldn’t get in on the refund even though the St Louis dealership told me my car was NOT on the list!!!! Since the bumper has to be pulled off he said it would save me $300 the next time the left light may go out, which could be right when I pulled off the light or it could be months. So I had to suck it up and get both lights replaced at a cost of $3,379.85.

To date Cadillac has offered no recall or financial recourse for this which is absurd!!!

We are ready to downsize to one car and sell our 2 and I can tell you Cadillac will not be one of our future choices.

The rebate for fixing this problem with the lights states we have 90 days to fix and submit. The letter says that they will start sending checks in July. I was told on the phone that they will start in August.

We all know about the headlights seals on the SRX becoming cracked and letting in moisture and wreaking havoc on our beloved SRX's. The dealer will totally take advantage of you and charge you not only an arm and a leg, but also wants your first born as well. But with some patience and a bit of luck, I was able to fix both of my headlights at the same time for less than $500. For those that have the HID's setup its big bucks to fix. I found not only one but two headlight assembly for under $300 a piece and then spent about a few days on YouTube looking at all the different way to take the front bumper off and replace the headlight buckets. It took longer to remove the bumper than it did to remove the 3 mounting bolts on each light bucket and put it all back together and Voila...works perfectly....so stop whining about how the factory should fix your car and get out there and do it your self in one Saturday afternoon...literally.

I'm furious to see that there's numerous complaints about the headlights on the Cadillac Srx Models and still nothing has been done about. My husband and I replaced what we thought was the normal issue which was the bulbs. When that didn't work, we went to Auto Discount and an Employee helped us changed the bulbs because he stated " we had the wrong bulbs put in ".

Anyway, it took him about an hour to put them in and still they didn't work. It's very difficult driving at night. I called the GM and the Cadillac Headquarters and received no help. We refuse to go to the Cadillac Dealer simply because another customer who have the same issue got his headlights fixed and the headlights went out again. People are spending thousands of dollars and still these headlights are not properly working. Shame on the Manufacturer!

Update from Oct 22, 2018: I called GM and was told to go to Cadillac Dealer to have it fixed and that there's no recall yet. She even ask if I wanted her to make me an appointment. Why should I pay for they're mistake? Anyway, please go to www.nhtsa.gov to file a complaint. This is in fact a Government website. We need more complaints out there. However, there's only one lawsuit in the state of California. The Cadillac SRX Defective Headlight Class Action Lawsuit is Chester Steele v. General Motors, LLC Case No.2:17-04323, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Just goggle this and it should pop up. Why only California?

Also, the Rep from GM told me that I was the only one that called with this issue. She claimed that there were no other calls or complaints about faulty headlights. Please contact GM and the Government website I provided before someone gets seriously injured or possibly dies. Thanks! May God Help Us All!

I bought a used 2010 Cadillac SRX last December, drove it for about a week the noticed driver side headlight was out so went to Autozone to check price of bulb $100 no way, so checked Ebay and got 2 for $25. Headlight worked fine for about another month and driver side light went out again so I tried replacing it with the other bulb and it didn't work. Took vehicle by local Cadillac dealership and they told me it sounded like the Ballast was bad which costs $225 just for part and $444 total w/labor.

Told dealership to go ahead and replace it and headlight still didn't work. Dealership said condensation was in light causing it not to work and I needed a headlight replacement with total cost of $1700 which couldn't afford just for a headlight so I found one online for $275 and installed it myself and it worked fine for about another month now out again. Heavy rain for 3 days and I'm wondering if moisture is inside it because I removed the bumper again and switched bulbs from good side and put on bad side and bulb not working but bad side bulb is working on good side. I'm also going to replace the relay fuse to see if that work. Don't see why there is not a recall on this since there are so many complaints.

Bought this 2010 Cadillac SRX 6 weeks ago. No problems with vehicle at all...except headlights. The used car dealer where I purchased the vehicle has worked on the headlights four times at their expense, the last time being 4/14/2017. It rained today, 4/17/2017. The headlights have water in them again which means if the headlights are turned on they will malfunction. The local Cadillac dealer tells me there is no recall and the replacement of the entire headlight assembly is the only recommended repair at a cost to me of $3,000 for both lights. I am afraid to drive this automobile at night. Why has General Motors not issued a recall to fix these damn lights? The headlights on this particular model automobile seems to be the number one complaint.

We own a 2010 Cadillac SRX base model and are having issues with the low beam lights. I have replaced the bulbs twice now within the last 6 months, but we can barely see the road in front of us at night. Initially, I thought I purchased the wrong bulbs, but upon further research, that's not the case. There is also condensation in one of the headlamps. The only other thing that I can think might be the issue is that the wiring harness for the lights have gone bad? It would be unusual that both could/would go bad, but when I replaced the bulbs the second time, I could see that where the bulb is inserted looked a little "black".

I have a 2010 Cadillac SRX. Began noticing condensation inside the left front headlight assembly in late spring early summer. Told service department at Cadillac dealer and was told they needed to visually see it before they could cover under warranty. Every time I noticed the condensation it would clear up before I could get to dealer for repair.

At this point it was well under the extended warranty mileage of 100k. In early October I noticed the condensation and the weather was such that it did not dry out. Immediately took to dealer and showed service manager. At this point I was at 101,000 miles. Service manager said nothing could be done that Cadillac would not cover since they didn't care after warranty expiration period. They essentially don't want to deal with anything at that point. Condensation dried up.

On 11/18/2105 I got a check low beam warning on my information center. Purchased bulb at $100.00 took to dealer for replacement which labor is 138.00. They checked the new bulb and said it was not the problem, but the balaest had short and out due to the condensation. They contacted Cadillac and I was told there was a 60/40 split with my portion being $400.00 or so dollars. I contacted Cadillac customer service and was told that offer was all they would do.

I then contacted the Executive team for further assistance and was supposed to hear something today. Spoke with my contact today and have no answer. I advised my contacts that I was going out of town for the holidays and I would like to have a resolution before Wednesday. I still have not heard anything back.

Cadillac needs to cover repairs for this issue as it is clearly a design flaw and is a safety issue.

The driver's side headlamp filled with condensation and water. The low lamp bulb check light came on. The next day the bulb was working. Driving for Thanksgiving, I got pulled over and issued a fix it ticket. I was told the low beam was out. When checking the bulb on Thanksgiving day, the high beam, low beam, and directional were also out. Today, the high beam worked but nothing else. Checking for a fix, it stated a possible wiring overload due to a faulty headlamp. Data from the Internet shows many people having this issue and a few were able to get it fixed through a recall, if it was from a particular factory. At the dealer, today, I was told not to believe what was found on the Internet. They ran my VIN and it showed two recalls but not the headlamp. The cost to get the headlamp ordered is over $1200. Then there are labor costs of $95.00 an hour.

This isn't right. If there are so many people having this problem, GM should recall all and fix the problem. I live in the Catskill Mountains. It is almost winter. This could cause a serious or posible fatal accident. I haven't had the car for a year yet. This is not right! What do I do?

moisture in driver side headlamp , restricts visibility

Warranty has expired....told dealer about problem while still under warranty. they were aware of problem...said that happens. moisture has gotten worse. visibility is definitely reduced. Gm should own up to this problem and replace the lamp. This is not an isolated issue!
