DRAINS short out the car -- pours water into the from area and the compartment holding the electronics for the back gate to the car .. and so the back gate (back cargo hold door) will not open . shorts out the electronics to open the door and there is no manual opening device . This is RIDICULOUS ... and Cadillac just ignores the problem .. it is a KNOWN issue in these cars and there is no recall .. and the only lawsuit I have found was dismissed .. this can SHORT OUR THE ENTIRE CAR .. kill your car .. CADILLAC ..I will NEVER buy another cadillac .. the issues with these cars are HUGE .. fan assembly ($1500) to fix that .. AC .. $1000 fixed that.. headlights LAWSUIT and then Cadillac tried to LIE and pay the for the replacement costs PLUS you had to pay upfront for the lights and then get reimbursed .. and that was $5000 .. the catalytic converter has issues (known defect) .. all of that I have written about are KNOWN ISSUES that Cadillac will not fix.

This is ridiculous to dump that on a customer and charge what they charge for these cars .. H O R R I B L E .. I wrote Cadillac and they "blew it off" with a basic "buyer beware" you were fool enough to buy it!!!! Sewell Cadillac in Houston LIED and misrepresented the car completely .. but the back gate (cargo hold door) needs to be a lawsuit and Cadillac needs to FIX THIS AT THEIR EXPENSE .. I cannot drive the car in the rain because of the issue and it is very dangerous .. it is amoral for Cadillac to have done this period

Cadillac needs to get off their ass and take care of this problem. When I drive this car I get very ill. It shorted out the lift gate motor and module because they didn't recall it for this problem, which in turn is causing more electrical problems. I will never buy another Cadillac in my life - too much hassle to get this taken care of.

I have had no leaking issues until this. I was getting into the car one morning and had at least 3 inches of water on both the driver and passenger side front of vehicle. I immediately thought I left the window down or the door open all night since it had rained overnight and the amount of water was crazy! That wasn't the case. I felt the headliner, checked the dash, checked under the dash, the windows, etc. and they were dry! Where did this come from - because it was as if a hose had been left inside to run, there was so much water. I sucked the water out and covered the car with a tarp.

It rained for 3 or 4 days straight but the car was completely covered. When it had quit raining, I took the tarp off, thinking it was OK to drive - but again the car was completely soaked. How in the world does the water get in with it being covered the entire time? By this time I have mold growing EVERYWHERE!! I haven't even wanted to sit in the car. Its covered EXTREMELY BADLY! The leather seats are destroyed. What about the electrical gadgets IN the seat? Am I going to fry my ass if I turn the ass warmer on?

There is mold on the steering wheel, on the seatbelts, everywhere! I took it to the dealer, explaining to them I know there are tech bulletins and people have sued, and yet there are NO recalls, even though GM has known about the drains in the sunroof not working right since 2010. They give me an estimate of $280 to look at it and will advise. They keep the car overnight. The next day the advisor tells me they need to remove the headliner and run a water leak test to see where its coming from and then gives me an estimate to remove the headliner to check for the leak, run a water leak check and then retest it to see if that fixes the problem. Then they will replace the carpet and seat belts. All for a small price of $7577.63 @#!$% dollars! Are you kidding me?

He gives me the estimate like he already knows the issue, plus WTF did they do when they had it overnight?! Initial estimate was $280 and I was getting an oil change. I told them where it was leaking and I thought I would at least had some kind of closure and now I have to turn it in to MY insurance? I say horses***! My car is ruined and a new carpet and seatbelts aren't going to help with the rest of the frickin' mold! Oh, did I mention the almost $500 for the headlight GM knows has issues with on these and other cars too! You pay a fortune for a car and now they want the little bit left of my ass they haven't got to yet!

water leaking into vehicle

My 2011 Cadillac SRX has been leaking from the sunroof hose down into the body of the car and into the cargo area damaging my electric system and my lift gate. This is a manufacturers defect that is widely acknowledged on line via videos on you tube and various other forums. Cadillac is aware of the leak issue but refuses to assist their loyal customers in providing a fix. I have spent $2000 to have my lift gate fixed twice and it is burned out again because of rain or washing the vehicle. Cadillac forced me to have a dealer diagnostic done for $225 only to come back offer to help with the cost of the repair in the amount of $170 for a $1800 fix. GM knows this is an issue and refuses to fix it at their expense. My dream Cadillac has turned into a nightmare.

The vehicle will be hard to get rid of because of the leak issue and I do not have $1800 to spend for a third time to fix this problem. The hose in the sunroof area gets clogged or crimped and causes water to leak into the car. The car begins to smell, rust and mold as a result, as well as electric systems burning out constantly. It is a never ending repair.

1st Sunroof leaked and allowed water to leak in under the spare tire compartment to where the mechanism for opening and shutting the tailgate is located. 6" deep in water and the part had to be replaced. $1500.00

2nd This has happened again, along with water on the inside of the floorboard.
