I had to have this headlight Assembly installed for our State Inspection! I was told it was so expensive because the bumper had to be removed to put in the new light assembly. Wow - so expensive! It was full of moisture and all foggy. This should be a recall for sure. This could have been a dangerous problem. I hope I can get some of my money back!

I’m so angry to find out about this headlight issue so long after it became a well known issue. My vehicle is at the dealership getting fixed right now - to the tune of $1850!!! It’s ridiculous to spend that amount of money to fix an issue that should be recalled! How do I become a member of a class action lawsuit?

It's a real shame to have worked for GM and know how they operate to avoid recalls. This is a serious safety failure that can potentially cause harm to innocent people. When your lights go out, you can't see where you are going, and you've got a problem. Not to mention when the headlight goes out, it's not an easy fix. You must remove front facia to replace bulb. If you're an old fart without knowledge, you are screwed - get ready to pay the high dollar for something that's not really a normal maintenance thing instead.

The moisture and water in headlights caused by bad seals lead to this failure. I really don't care. I will buy aftermarket lights and fix the problem, not point to others for the solution. This why GM is always lacking in customer satisfaction. What they should do is fix the problem before people are killed. GM could offer replacement headlamps from non-oem sources as a sign of good faith and try to save face on this issue.

I've had this headlight issue for several years. As time goes on, it becomes more annoying. The headlights intermittently go out. Sometimes the left and mostly the right. Visited two different dealerships. Each tell me that nothing is wrong with it, no short and bulb is functioning. Until it's not. Usually at night, and especially bad in the snow or rain. Dealerships said the headlights are expensive to fix, and said not to fix it because it would probably do it again...at least they were honest.

I purchased a 2011 Cadillac SRX in August 2018. I have owned only GM products for 40 years. Was extremely happy with my purchase for about 3 months. We had a lot of rain and the right headlight went out. I noticed moisture inside the headlight assembly. Once the rain stopped, it took 2 days of dry weather, but the light came back on.3 weeks later, I drove the car to work. It rained on this particular day and on my way home both lights went out. I have never been so scared in my life! I couldn't see the road but worse than that I realize cars coming towards me couldn't see me. I pulled off the road and called my husband to come pick me up. We left the car and picked it up the following day in the daylight. Since then, I checked the lights every day. The left one came back on a few days later however the right one has not. Then the left went out again. My husband called GM headquarters to report this and they take NO responsibility. He later found a number for the Cadillac headquarters. I was told to get a repair estimate and diagnosis. This cost me 118.02. The problem was diagnosed that the housing seal is defective causing moisture to rust the ballasts and light bulbs. I informed Cadillac and they take NO responsibility, they called the dealership I received the diagnosis from and got me a 200.00 discount....OH WOW!!! REALLY!!!/??? So instead of 3000.00 I would only have to pay 2800.00. I am so upset about this especially after reading so many of the same issues on line. I guess they won't recall them or claim responsibility until someone dies.....VERY SAD. NOT A FAN OF GM ANYMORE.

I noticed moisture one of the headlight assemblies soon after I purchased this car. But I had hopes that it would not affect the bulbs themselves. Wrong! The left driving light went out Friday night. I cringe to think what it will cost to replace this, as I'm pretty sure the bumper has to be removed to access it so labor will be a big factor. I had a bad experience with a non-dealership repair, so I always take my car to the Cadillac dealership for work. I trust them to not rip me off, but quality work comes at a premium price. Even at that, I don't mind so much paying to replace/repair if I know it's a good fix. However, from what I've read on line, the replacement assemblies aren't any better than the originals. I know the request for a class action was recently denied, but can someone else pick up the flag and try to get this accomplished?

The public would never buy a Cadillac if they knew of the problems it has. This is suppose to be the best car we make in America and what are you making for us a big piece of trouble. I will never never buy another one in my life. My wife has a Toyota Camry that never has given us any trouble. I hope there is still a recall or something that you can help me out with thanks I almost forgot to ask why no spare tire?

Heading to the NHTSB site to submit complaint. 2011 SRX Performance had driver's headlamp failure, replacement cost $1900. Dealer quoted even higher. Cause is moisture intrusion, a known defect to Cadillac. Even though replacement is OEM, illumination pattern is 2-3' shorter on driver's side than passenger side. Manual adjustment and computer reset did not fix. Lousy for a supposed luxury car!

Moisture in Lights causing the to fail to work. Costing of $3,000 for both headlights money in which I don't have & there is no recall. Will cause someone or me to have a wreck if there is not a recall on them. I was driving home late at night kept wondering why I couldn't see, when I arrived home I only had fog lights. I am lucky it did not cause me to have a wreck with my grandson. Now we are on a dusk curfew as to I am a single mom do not have the money to fork out right now until I can save the money to fix them.

The 1st headlight was replaced in 2015 (covered, car was certified) and the 2nd was replaced June 2017 at a cost of $650.00. Something should be done about this by General Motors. When you buy a car like this you shouldn't have these problems. This is my 4th Cadillac please help.

Cadillac SRX low beam headlights don't illuminate the road. Requires driving with high beams to see roadway without reflective strips or during rain. This is a major safety issue. I'm about to take to the dealership for repairs. I can only imagine how much this will cost and it is clearly a manufacturer defect based on the numerous online complaints. I don't like GM products and only bought this for my wife. Will NEVER purchase another GM product. They don't seem to want to stand behind their known defects. Praying this won't cause someone a fatality in the near future.

About 2 years ago I noticed off and on moisture in my passenger headlight. When I discussed at the dealer while still under warranty I was told the moisture had to be present in order for it to be fixed. Since at the time it was intermediate I missed the chance to get it covered. Now I'm out of warranty and the moisture is always in the headlight. I now find out it would cost over $1000 to get it fixed!!!! For a 35,000 car it's ridiculous that I have to incur this cost. I can see from this website and other sites that this is occurring often to this year and model. Very annoyed that this is not a recall item!!!

It is now several months later and the right side is letting in condensation. It took the dealership over 2 months to get the part in from the manufacturer when I had the left side replaced. Now my car is out of warranty. My father-in-law just happened to buy the same make/model/and year and the same problem happened to him. Unfortunately, his vehicle was not under the manufacturer's warranty and he didn't have an extended warranty. This should be a recall!

I thought that I had a routine maintenance problem with my driver side headlight, and was anticipating a quick fix at a minimum cost. The service department completed a diagnosis on my vehicle and informed me that my headlight was not the primary issue, but they head lamp assembly and that I would need to get a new headlamp assembled and installed in my vehicle at the cost of $1573.80.

What I anticipated as a routine maintenance issue, is instead, a manufacturer defect. This is a safety concern because no person should be placed at the rest at the expense of a manufacturer defect. Driving with one headlight is very dangerous, and places myself, and my family at risk.
