XTS Premium 6 Cylinder

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,000 miles

About six times over four years, the car has randomly and unexpectedly lost all power. The last time, we pulled up to a valet, left the car, and the valet chased us into the restaurant, because the car was completely dead at the parking entrance. Would not start. Finally started. Especially annoying, is that this car completely locks up, and cannot be pushed anywhere. Tow truck drivers must drag it, with wheels locked, as well. The ONLY thing that we’ve noticed, is that it could have something to do with the system’s reaction to a phone charger. Always plugged in, when problem occurs. Removal appears to allow the car to start, but also might be totally coincidental. Dealer is unfamiliar with the issue. It’s a terrible problem for such a fancy, expensive and tricked out ride. Any similar experiences and/or resolutions? Thanks!

XTS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,000 miles

This was very scared. Driving at night alone after 10 pm on not too busy road and list all power going 55 mph. I lost speed and coasted. I was able to point car to side of street. No power steering, no lights on dash, interoior or headlights. After stopping, brakes worked, put in park and attempted start, failed Started second time. No further problem. To into dealership following work day.

Tech reprogrammed BCM and keyless entry module with latest software. I was told they could not recreate problem and didn't know what caused it.
