problem #20

Blazer 4WD

This vehicle experienced a fuel injector assembly failure, causing the intake manifold to become flooded with gasoline, creating a potentialy very dangerous condition, due to the risk of fire in the engine compartment. This is not an isolated case, as I have discovered at least 6 other instances involving the same vehicle, with the same hazardous condition, right in my immediate vicinity.

problem #6

Jun 011999

Blazer 4WD

  • miles
Central port fuel injection unit burned out which caused fuel to leak within my engine. The problem also caused various hoses to become defective. This was a dangerous situation since leaking fuel could have sparked a fire. Understand from the a car mechanic this is the first time a vortex engine was used which could have contributed to the problem. I contacted Chevy via internet on July 8th but they were unconcerned. I feel a recall should happen with this problem, especially when I hear about the other owners of 1995 Blazer that have the same problem.

This is a followup to a previously reported problem. The service lite has intermittently come on onthis vehicle since the 40K range. The egr valve, an injector and various incidental parts were replaced in November,1998 at 78000 miles during two separate service visits. The vehicle again experience identical problems in April 1999 at 84000 miles which include rough running and stalling at slow speeds and the service engine light again coming during the rough running periods. The veihcle was returned to the dealer who first replaced the sensor-ox(part #102) this did not correct the problem and 3 days latter a new egr valve had to be instaled on 4/16/99. Due to these repeated problems I feel it is dangerous to drive this vehicle since you never know when the problem will reoccur and the vecle will again stall and run rough, making it an adventure when you are slowing or attempting to merge in traffic.
