Blazer LT 4.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission

My 2000 Blazer quit running on the worst day possible. Not only was it a Monday but it was raining and it stalled in the intersection. The mechanic told me not only did the fuel pump need to be replaced but the sending unit was also necessary. After calling a certified Chevy dealer about the cost, I had no choice but to replace the parts. I now have a working fuel gauge after fighting a losing battle with knowing what my gas level was without using the trip odometer. I learned that my vehicle has had many of the same repairs that others have experienced. My question to GM is this, if we can't build quality vehicles and stand behind them, what leg do you have to stand on when Toyota, and other foreign car makers sales exceed yours? If you want to be the leader in the auto industry, I think you need to address these problems at your expense, not the buyer's expense. Just some constructive criticism GM !!

My 2000 Blazer stopped running while my daughter was on the road, and she had to have it towed. After I went to pick it up, I replaced the fuel pump and checked all the relays and fuses. It ran for one day, then quit again. It was experiencing the same problems, so I hauled it home and dropped the fuel tank again and checked the wires. NOTHING>>>> so I went and got a new fuel pump and replaced the other new one. NOTHING> so I checked wires again , checked fuses and still won't run.

Any ideas?

Blazer 4.3L Vortech

  • Automatic transmission
  • 212,000 miles

this is the third fuel pump we've put in this damn car, when it takes tons and tons of cranking to get her to start, just check fuel pressure. that seems to be the problem every time. if its below 60psi, get a new pump. and it will start right up...

Blazer 3.2L V

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,500 miles

My fuel gauge started to go haywire about 4 months ago. Had to use the Odometer to know how many miles per gallon I was going. Then it broke down and I was able to coast into a parking lot almost getting hit by several car to cross to get to parking lot. I called triple AAA for towing and waiting two hours in my car in the cold for them to come tow my car. They towed my blazer to a AAA certified garage where I was told I could get a free inspection (someone will lose their job for telling me that) but they had to comply. I received a call the next morning where I was told the repair would cost 1025.00. WOW!!! talk about crap. I just put 1500.00 into the blazer the yr before b/c my anitfreeze decided to party with my oil. So anyway I had my blazer towed to a friends house and the part was ordered from autozone. and my friend was kind enough to put the new fuel pump in. so total cost for the part and tow was 500 a blessing compared to the 1025.00 the garage wanted to rip me off for.
