Camaro LT / RS 3.6L

  • Manual transmission
  • 89,000 miles

My story starts out by saying that it was a dream of mine to own the new design Camaro. It took me some time but finally got a 2011 Camaro RS Edition v6 6speed manual transmission with only 61,000 miles. For almost half the cost, so I've put about 20,000 miles on it and all of a sudden I lost 3rd gear and then 1st gear starts slipping. So I've taking it to the dealership in Springfield, Tn and they drove the car and said the synchronizer has went out. I rode with the mechanic and he told me that no those cars with the 6 speed manual transmission they haven't been able to put together a procedure cause they can't get the parts to rebuild them type transmissions. He said it would probably have to be completely replaced. Lucky I op-ed for the extended warranty when I bought it, so my plan says it should be covered. That's where I'm at has anyone else had this issue and if so what was your outcome?

Camaro SS 6.2L V8

  • Manual transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Special ordered this car from the factory in 2011. Starting having shifting problems from the very first. Took it back to dealer and was told shifting was normal that depending on RPM would need to go straight to 4th gear. This was not true, go to 4th gear and car would bog and nearly quit. Took it back again and was told nothing wrong with car. I still own the car today and the problem is now escalating to being dangerous. On a bridge in stop and go traffic, car would not shift from 1 to 2 or any other gear, nearly rear ended. I am constantly now having near miss rear end collisions, especially from lights because the car will not go into gear from 1 to 2 or 3. I can release and depress clutch and it still will not go into gear until my car has come to a stop and then will suddenly change gears. Very dangerous situation.
