Camaro LS 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,991 miles

The radio snaps off, no audible alerts (turn signal, seat belt, door or trunk ajar). The AC blower motor fluctuates. I was told radio controls all of these.

GM knows it's a problem, 40% of the NHTSA complaints are about similar radio/ac/bcm issues, but they will not move until there's a class action lawsuit

Camaro LS 3.6L

  • Manual transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Why is this specific to only the LS model Camaro's? I posted this because there are many people with the same issue and I think its Chevy's responsibility to replace/fix this issue. A lot of $ for these cars.

My 2013 model's radio has been on and off randomly for almost 3 years now. I once asked the dealer if they know what's the reason during my regular service and they replied they had no idea but would like to check it out for me if I pay another $90+... Seriously I'm not the one who's beating my radio every day, and with so many people who are sharing the same problem, I hope it would bring the issue to Chevy... DO A RECALL!!! or at least GO THRU SOME INVESTIGATION AND GIVE US A SOLUTION.

Since I don't often drive this car, it wasn't bothering that much before, even though it happened every time I drove on it. However, it recently brings me attention that this could be a SAFETY ISSUE.

1. I realize the radio on/off happens nearly every time I step on my brake. It gives me the impression that the radio and brake may somehow related. It even gives me nightmares about BRAKE BEING DYSFUNCTION.

  1. The AC/heater on/off in a 5-sec circle. This 5 seconds would not be enough to blow the fog off my windshield. If it happens during highway drive, it would cause serious injury by blocking the vision.

    3. Sometimes, after quiet for 10+ minutes, the radio may suddenly turn on by itself, start with a VERY LOUD noise. I have been scared quite a few times while driving and if a bad thing happens at a bad time... it may cause trouble

Please don't laugh at me by taking a radio-fault as a Safety Issue. If I'm the only person who experiences this, I would say it's me who's being unlucky. But if so many people are sharing the same problem (as I found on the other websites... and even YouTube has videos showing the same problem...), I would say it's the PRODUCT and the FACTORY who need to take the responsibility and give out the solution.

My 2013 Chevrolet Camaro Is experiencing harsh electrical issues. When I turn on the vehicle they're loud popping noises coming from the radio and speakers. The radio flickers on and off plus I have recently smelled something burning in my car. I am assuming this is caused by the fuse. Also, I have recently replaced the compressor because I was having problems with the AC blowing hot. It worked for 3 months and is now blowing hot again. Before I spend thousands of dollars on fixing the issues I am contemplating trading in the car. A mechanic warned me not to drive the car because it seems like the fuse may burn out. I am highly disappointed with Chevy and will never purchase another Chevy in my lifetime and would warn others of doing the same thing.

Camaro LS 3.6L

  • Manual transmission
  • 34,325 miles

First back in February I was listening to a disc and my radio ejected it; I tried to put it back in to listen to it and once again it was ejected. I replaced that disc with another and it ejected that disc as well. As I started driving again and got a few miles down the road and the radio starts randomly turning off and on continuously. I tried while it was playing to turn the power off but this did not stop the process from happening.

That was the beginning of my now electrical issues with my Camaro and this is extremely nerve racking. At this point the radio is now at the point that I cannot start my car if I do not drive it for a few days because the radio continuously tries to turn on even after I have parked my car and set the locks and factory alarm.

I have had my battery checked to make sure that it is still working and my battery is still working however the constant radio problem is causing it to drain to a point where i cannot start my car. I am also experiencing my blinkers, A/C, and seat belt alarm not working while the radio keeps struggling to work.

I have my car serviced at my local Chevy dealer where I purchased the car and they will only advise me that I have to purchase a refurbished radio for $600.00 plus labor, I am not going to do this when this is a reoccurring problem for at least six years of the 5th gen Camaro. The real fear for me is fire; I was at a light behind one of my neighbors while his 2014 Camaro caught on fire and burned from the trunk forward to the cabin. I also have issues as the display of the radio goes on and off constantly (producing a brightly lit display) which is an unsafe issue with the drivers eyes adjusting so irrationally, as I have to drive home sixty miles from my job on a very dark drive so that plays on the drivers safety.

How can we get General Motors to take this issue seriously because lets be honest this should not fall on the consumer as it is obviously a major problem from what I have discovered while researching my problem with my car. I find it outrageous that this started happening to my car and I had only driven my car a total about 34,000 miles.

I am an avid Chevrolet/GM buyer and I am a part of a generation that grew up with the Camaro and I have owned this one as well as a 1997 30th Anniversary Edition that I enjoyed thoroughly without any of these issues in fact the worst issue with the 97 was in the cooling system which is to be expected with the mileage and wear and tear.

Camaro 1LS 3.6L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 102,000 miles

Radio started failing by making a popping noise which became louder and so frequent, the car was not even driveable. Dealer said not even the extended warranty would cover anything since I was beyond the 100k period with no help. The radio then shorted out the HVAC and ever with everything off would make loud pooping noises so loud and so frequent the car was not driveable.
