Summary
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have an idle hanging high after a throttle is snapped. This concern may be caused by two issues. The first issue requires a gear shift interaction; this one is an extended hang typically around 2000 rpm. There was also an issue with a slower than normal RPM decay after a tip-in during catalyst light-off. The first concern Engineering is working on a fix. The second concern can be fixed by updating the Engine Control Module.
