Cavalier 2S 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

First there was this tapping noise in the front end of car. Took it to mechanic and was told the plates had broken loose and that it would only cost me $500 to have it fixed. They said it wasn't life threatening and I decided not to have it fixed then. Everything on this car is falling apart or makes terrible noises!

Cavalier LS Sport 2.2L Ecotec

  • Manual transmission
  • 32,000 miles

My car was still under warranty when I began hearing clunking in my front suspension, but it was so erratic and difficult to make the noise happen that I felt it would be a waste of my time to have the dealer look at it. Well, the noise is definitely more constant, and now is in both the front and rear suspension. I hope it holds together until I can trade this POS in on a new car.

I had one strut mount replaced under the normal warranty and then had to have them redone by my mechanic off warranty--approximate $1000. I drive a cavalier-I'm certainly not offroading. I drive down a major highway in Ontario to get to work.
