I bought my Chevy with 30,000. The first 10,000 seemed great!! I loved my car!! Until the driver window stopped working. Since these are powered windows I knew it was going to be a pretty penny to fix. so I decided to hold off on the window since I just had twin girls and was strapped for cash. Well, about a month later, the two back windows were stuck down! At this point, I had no warranty and didn't even try to fix THREE power windows. I still have this car...in 2011. And the windows still don't work. I have had to tape up my car when it rains and it makes my car look ridiculous. But that was the only way I could keep my kids dry in the back seat...terrible!

Cavalier LS 2.2L

I had a 2001 Impala that had only 48,000 miles i only had a year. Well the transmission started to go out in it. In 05 we traded in it for the 05cav. This way we knew from the start how it was maintained. The 05 cav has been maintained well. Funny thing is we were going to buy a Toyota but they wouldn't deal. So we got the cav. The car only has 36,000 some miles on it and had to have the window regulator replaced on the driver side because it wouldn't go up or down. That was in march of 2010. Thats after only having it 5 years. Later that year we find out the ac isn't cooling too good. March 2011 it needs a new compressor. Hello, thats why the Big 3 went under their cars are Junk. Especially GM.

Can you believe ALL four windows stuck in the up position, Well, I guess its better than the down position a few months ago when we had all that rain and wet snow. Had to turn up the heat just to get by. Then finally my nephew was able to get it back up except for a couple inches, and now I have clear Duct tape on my window! Disgusted!

Power window motor failure, reported to General Motors Corp. at GMC CustomerAssistance@gmexpert.com. They will pay to have G. M. dealer install replacement power window motor that I had to purchase. ( having to pay for defective part that is made in China "SUCKS" because out of warranty.

The cost of the power window motor was $132,55, the estimate that the dealer quoted for part and labor was $380.34 (part list $180.34 and $200.00 labor to install) General Motors will pay the installation charge to the dealer. Report your problem to the N. H. T. S. A Office of Defects Investigation your trouble may be a safety issue? Also see vehicle Lemon Laws in your State and the Federal Law "Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Be sane, don't cuss out your dealership, they didn't build your vehicle. Also note the SAFETY VEHICLE INSPECTION PROGRAM in your state. In my state the inoperative power window is a SAFETY VIOLATION and the vehicle is unsafe to operate on the highway. Vehicles build by manufacturer's with defects must comply with the State and Federal law to be sold retail. So just don't complaint and cuss about it, Take Action!
