Cobalt LS 2.2L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

First, the power steering light came on. About fifteen seconds later, the gauges on the dash started twitching and the gas pedal went down below my foot. Once off the interstate, every time the car would upshift or downshift, the car would lurch forward and act like it was going to stall out. I drove it later that day and it acted normally.

Cobalt LS/LT 2.2L

  • Manual transmission
  • 27,962 miles

My girlfriend bought her Cobalt LS (coupe, 5 spd, 45000km) last August

She has been drivng a standard for years and years

One day, it was 30*C and she was going through town, and it became extremely hard to shift (almost impossible) in all gears, but especially 1-2-3.....(and the clutch didnt feel right either)

It only happens in the hot weather, so she took it to the GM dealership where she purchased and they told her there was nothing wrong with it (clearly there was, I was there to see it myself) and they gave her a pamplet on "how to drive a standard"...

It happened one other time in September, and never did it again till last week when the temperature struck 32*C...
