The a/c blower motor resistor/harness/plugs/assembly. Have a genius a/c guy that repaired it with a paper clip first time. Second I bought the new resistor, plugs and connectors. Installed and nothing. No a/c and so hot lately. No defroster when cold. Online resistor and harness is cheap but may not work. Will follow this up after I put my a/c genius on it again. Maybe a fuse now? Need ac. Help...

THIS SEEMS TO BE A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM AND IS AN ANNOYANCE WHETHER IN WINTER OR SUMMER AS THE FAN WILL ONLY RUN ON HIGH. WHEN YOU NEED A LITTLE HEAT OR A/C, YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE FAN RUNNING FULL FORCE AND REGULATE WITH THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS. I HAVE REPLACED THE PLUG-IN THREE TIMES AND THE RESISTOR SIX TIMES. THE RESISTORS I PAID FOR TWO OF THEM AND THE OTHER TIMES THEY WERE UNDER THE PARTS MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY.

THE PLUG-INS WERE PURCHASED FROM JUNK YARDS FOR $5-$10 EACH. THERE IS SUPPOSEDLY A REPLACEMENT HARNESS AVAILABLE FOR $50 FROM ADVANCE AUTO PARTS BUT I DON'T WANT TO PAY THAT TO HAVE IT BURN UP IN A MONTH OR SO. CHANGING THE PLUG-IN AND THE RESISTOR IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AND I THINK THERE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM CAUSING THIS. MAYBE WHEN THE VEHICLE BURNS UP AS A RESULT THE INSURANCE COMPANY WILL PRESS THE ISSUE WITH GM?

Blower motor only works on High. Not sure exactly what day this started, but sometime last fall. At first, if I jiggled the switch a bit, it would come on in the lower speeds, but now, all I have is full blast.
