won't not start

I bought the car used and owned it for 5 years. It always seems to have electrical problems - windshield wipers would turn on by themselves and occasionally the truck would not start. With this latest episode, I have to call for a tow.

Went to start vehicle @ 7:24 am and the alarm light was flashing again. I have reported this issue several times and the manufacture has not done a recall yet on the alarm system.

Colorado LS 5 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

I've bought my vehicle new. After a few years it wouldn't always start, sometimes had to wait 10 mins or a little less, then when it started it was like nothing never happened. It drove terrific. Now just today it took 45 min to start. I've replaced the battery and also the battery cable clamps and the alternator is fine. I was told it might be my safety switch/ignition switch. Please help.

Engine would not start and the transmission would not engage. The anti theft red light would stay lighted even though the truck was not equipped with the anti theft system. Had to replace the ignition switch and other associated electrical systems at a cost to me of $620.
