While making a tight left turn to gain entrance to the I75 on ramp South of gainsville fla. The driver side front brake caliper locked up causing the car to swerve violently to the left. Fortunately no other car was alongside so an accident was avoided.. since then this malfunction has repeated itself multiple times but fortunately at slower speeds.

The "active handling" annunciator warning occurs sporadically during driving at 60 - 65 mph. When this condition occurs, the car swerves right or left and yaws causing some loss of control. The control loss varies per each occurrence, some being more violent than others. I have had a GM trained technician troubleshoot the car with a scan tool and the result was a "steering wheel position sensor" (swps) failure indication on the scan tool. With the engine running and the scan tool connected, the indication of steering wheel angle was zero irrespective of actual steering wheel position. Regardless of actual steering wheel position the indicator showed zero. I have researched your website and have found various service bulletins reflecting this problem. This is a clear safety hazard with respect to this car. It is also clear that the fault is either an engineering or manufacturing defect as there is nothing that a driver could do or input to cause this fault. I am also aware of GM's current publicity regarding their covering up of safety conditions in their vehicles with respect to ignition systems and would like this problem to be addressed and repaired and not covered up. Repeat, this is a definite safely hazard and GM should repair this defect. It is also clear that GM has been put on notice of this safety hazard.

1998-2004 Corvette would get the infamous "reduced engine power", "traction control failure" and a host of random failure codes. Still getting the random dtc failure codes. Directional signals and hazard lights stopped working intermittently while driving which is very dangerous. I have read so many articles on the internet and it seems that a lot of owners are experienced similar failures. This car is dangerous and not wrote worthy because of all the electrical problems. At one point while driving the car almost stopped because of some electrical failure. The government should look into this situation with Chevrolet Corvette's from 1998 through 2004 because after doing a lot of research on the internet I see a lot of complaints. Why hasn't this been a major recall for General Motors? ongoing problem and the dealer has no answers for a resolution. Also found out the factory wheels are cracking on the inside which is very unsafe to drive. I found this out when I had new original style tires put on the car. General Motors should recall and repair all these issues that many Corvette owners are experiencing.

The blinkers stop working sometimes while driving. The ABS lights comes on stability control. Headlights turn off and on while automatic twilight is on. The electrical system seems to have problems. The brakes, blinkers and gauges malfunction. I've looked on the internet and it seems a lot of Corvette owners from model year 1997-2004 are experiencing the same prolems. The alarm system also fails. I find this to be dangerous problem while driving when the electrical system fails to operate.
