problem #1

Apr 042018

Corvette Stingray 2LT Lt1 6.2L V8 Di/Wt

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,433 miles

Thie morning, 8 April 2018 I once again tried to open and start the vehicle. Wouldn't do either. I hooked up the trickle charger for approximately 4 hours. I then was able to start the car and drive. I was concerned that if I turned the car off it wouldn't restart, so I kept it running.

I returned home in about an hour, turned it off and decided to re-connect the trickle charger as I am going to take it back to Monument Chevrolet, Pasadena, TX in the morning.

How could their maintenance department (on 4 April) evaluate the problem with no problem found, when I experienced the same problem on 8 April? I drove the car on 6 and 7 April without any problem. Obviously there is a problem but I don't know what it is and neither do they.

I have my battery charged meter displayed on my dash but nothing tells me what the value should be while driving. Shouldn't the owner's manual tell me? What is the normal reading that verifies the charging system is OK?
