The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. While attempting to park, the vehicle failed to respond when the brake pedal was depressed. The brake pedal had to be depressed completely to the floor in order for the vehicle to stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician repaired the electric vacuum pump switch. The contact stated that the vehicle never experienced a failure until it was repaired according to NHTSA campaign number: 13V36000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000. Updated 10/07/14 the consumer stated the vacuum switch was replaced in November of 2012 under safety recall. Prior to replacement in November of 2013 the vehicle never experienced a failure. The failure occurred 10 months after the replacement. Updated 9/14/2015
