Cruze LTZ V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,642 miles

Occurred on 12/24/2017. While driving my rpm wouldn't shift when I was on my way home. Reverse worked as I pulled out of the place I was leaving. But a few minutes after the rpm went crazy and the engine was revving high and I couldn't go faster than 30 mph and than noticed that the check engine light turned on. The next day I went to pull out of my drive way to get to work and I wasn't able to reverse out of my drive way. Tried a few times and gave up because It only moved very little.

Cruze LT 1.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 128,000 miles

Car may have 128,000 miles, but it's only a few years old and the transmission completely stopped working. Dealership originally quoted $4800 to replace transmission with a rebuilt. I asked them to contact GM as I had many other different issues with the car. GM lowered repair to $2100 with rebuilding my transmission (instead of replacement). Now transmission shifts funny from 1st to 2nd. Brought back to dealer and they said that their transmission guy quit and they can't repair it. I have to bring to another GM certified repair place.

Update from Apr 4, 2015: Brought car to another GM certified dealer and they want to charge me to look at it as "they are all independently owned". Original dealer still has no Transmission mechanic on staff. I have contacted GM to work it out amongst the dealerships.

Cruze LS 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,831 miles

Very awful experience. Completely new car purchased in March 2010 and issue with transmission in its 9384 km mileage (in July'10). Transmission is the second key element f car to make it driving after engine. If its factory defect authorized dealer must immediately fix it by completely changing the transmission with new. But they didn't do despite the verbal complaints to the dealer.

Cruze LS 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,114 miles

2nd time in a row, reverse clutch piston was out of order and destroyed the whole transmission. Despite the complaints, dealer rejected the complete substitution of tranmission and repaired it with substituting destroyed parts. Time spent for this repair was 1 month. Was very annoying. Transmission still had issues after repair, but each time I have declared, they drive confirm, but in the end said electronics did not save any issue or do not detect any problem.
