This has been a problem since the car was new. brakes have squeaked for a long time. Now they have stopped squeaking but started grinding, mostly in reverse.

Cruze LT 1.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,254 miles

I'm writing this words to express my totally disappointment and frustration for my mistake buying this car. I was a happy owner of a Chevy Cruze LT bought in 2013. Not anymore. After only two months I started to have a bad noise coming from the rear brakes when using the brakes. In the same time one of the back doors started to give me problems at opening and closing.

After another few months I started to have a noise coming from the steering wheel when turning left and right and in the same time a vibration in the gas pedal. Being at the Dealership, for the problem with the steering wheel, I asked them to check the ignition switch because I had problems every time when I had to insert the key to start the car. Once I got stuck in a parking lot. I had to get out, from the car, and to start the car from the remote starter. A mechanic came to check, and playing with the key and the steering wheel, he broke the steering wheel. He couldn't even take out the key. They had to replace the ignition switch. Sounds familiar this problem?

After another few months I went for tires change and I found out there is another problem with my car. Recall for the front axle half shaft. They said I have to wait a month to have fixed this problem. Right now, when I writing this, I have already 7 weeks.

Cruze LX 3.2L

I had and still have my Kia. I needed a new car for this specific job I'm assigned to so I decided to go back to American made cars and this was a HUGE mistake. This Cruze was purchased new right off the lot and I started hearing a noise when I was applying my brakes it wasn't very loud at first so I ignored it for awhile. Then it proceeded to get louder so I had Jupiter Cheverolet look at the car when I took it into them for my routine oil change and tire rotation. They called me and said there was glazing on my brakes which I found very hard to believe since I only had 10,000 miles on the car. Never the less they resurfaced the rotors which I told them NOT to do I told them it was a new car so replace the rotors with new ones they didn't. I drove the car home and the noise was worse than it was when I took it to them to get it fixed. I took it back to them and they still have it right now but they did call me yesterday and told me there was nothing they could do to fix the problem. Their engineers knew about this problem as it has existed on the Cruze since 2011. It has to do with the brake drum but they don't see it as a safety issue. Well if it has to do with the brakes it's a safety issue to me. I will have to live with it was their answer to resolve the issue even though they admit the car sounds like it's falling apart. Well NO I don't have to live with it as i will seek legal council and get a refund for a car under the Texas Lemon Law so today Jupiter Cheverolet will see what action I am going to take against them. So buyers beware of the Chey Cruze as GMAC knows about the problem with the brakes and has known about it since 2011 but can't seem to get the issue resolved. I do still have my Kia thank goodness because without my Kia I would have NO transportation as the Cruse has been in the shop at the dealership for the past two weeks more than it has been with me. Morale of this story don't buy an American made car as they are crap. Yes I am an American but our products are crap!!!!!!!!!!
