Equinox

  • Automatic transmission
  • 174,000 miles

The website wants a VIN, I don't have one, my car was totaled.

My daughter was driving my 2009 equinox when suddenly the check engine light came on flickered went off, the car immediately powered down and she could not stop, hit a car in front of her that was stopped. My car was totaled and we are lucky that she is alive. My air bags did not go off. I have two issues, WTH is this crap about powering down? Why is there not a lawsuit and if there is I want to join, my daughter could have been killed or killed someone else. AND why did my air bags not go off???? I want answers, maybe I will file a lawsuit myself if someone hasn't already.

I will NOT buy another Chevy product, I feel like living.

Equinox Sport V6

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WITH THE ENGINE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE HAD IN THE PAST BUT NEVER KNEW ABOUT THIS PAGE. I have the same issue that I have saw on the complaints page. I was driving my equinox and the track stablizer light, traction control, and check engine light all came on and the engine began to lose power. I had to pull to the side of the road and get out of traffic. The engine light began to flash fast and then when I tied to pull out the power was not there, it barely go. I go into a parking lot and turned the motor off and it would not start back.

The first time this happened it was within the first 50,000-60,000 miles and GM replaced the motor. The issue was blown engine, I am going to call the dealership again and see if they will replace the motor again. The motor only has 40,000 miles on it...something has to be wrong to cause blown engines twice within the 100,000 miles. I will contact GM also.

engine power is reduced

Service Stabilitrak, Service Traction Control & Engine Power is reduced. All 3 lights came on at the same time. Lost power to vehicle, was traveling 50 mph and then the max I could go was 30mph. Very dangerous. Repairs were $600 and 3 weeks later the same thing happened. Another $600. Now 2 months later I am having the same issue again.
