Equinox LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

I have complained repeatedly about this "check engine" hesitation or resistant acceleration. Always told to bring it in and I will be charged $350. just to look at it which of coarse, is non-refundable!!!! I have allowed the car to sit in the backyard because I am so frustrated and I don't know what else to do. I paid out over $850 to fix the problem and its still there along with a "check engine" warning! If you research, this is a documented problem with most Equinox owner around this year. I love my vehicle, but this is bad business and I say SHAME ON YOU GMC/Chrysler!!!!

problem #2

Dec 152017

Equinox LT 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,600 miles

My manifold had been leaking for 2-3 years getting worse. Cracked in half and in other locations. The smell was finally getting into the cabin constantly and sounding horrible. This was all out of warranty, but I had a complaint to the Chevy Dealer when it was within the Covered mileage they just said it was normal. After the car failed its Oil Consumption Test and the Dealer was obligated to rebuild the lower portion of my motor, piston, rings, timing chain. They had to drop the exhaust manifold anyway…

Well they said if you pay for the part we would install it. So they really charged me retail! They could no get the O2 sensor our so that was retail too! 12 hours later my Service Engine light goes on. They had to replace the catalytic convertor! That was covered but not the O2 sensors. Yes I will list that as another complaint.

Equinox LS 3.2L V4

I own a 2011 equinox. It has been nothing but trouble. they replaced the manifold in 2015. It's not even been a year and it goes bad again. Dealership gave me a hard time saying my car was our of warranty but I reminded them they had replaced that part and it had not been a year. They replaced it again in 2016. Now in March of 2017 it goes bad again. I have taken great care of this car but it wasn't any good. Chevy does not want to stand behind their products. I paid 26,000 for this SUV, that's not a cheap car.
